What are the benefits of hair steaming?

And how is it done? I ask because my gym that I just joined has a steam room and I was wondering if sitting in there for 20 minutes would be the same or similar as the hair steaming that I've read about in the hair salon.

I think the benefits depend on whether the steam room uses dry heat or moist heat, IMO.

The steam room uses moist heat and the sauna is dry heat in my gym.

Well DUH!!! I'm such a moron....of course the steam room uses moist heat, hense the name steam room. Sorry, please forgive me, I hit my head earlier lol
