what are some tools and accessories you avoid

Now that your on a healthy hair journey?
I use to love these clips, there are so many pretty clips made like this but they always get tangled. I had this pretty rhinestone clip in my hair, but it's tiny so I had to take a small section and clip it and I went to take it out and it was stuck and I almost had a panic attack lol but they are so many pretty ones . I won't be wearing this for a while. But I did remove it without pulling any hair out I haven't seen any giant ones or slightly bigger ones than the medium ones

I avoid hair accessories with the teeth in them and paddle brushes. Both tools pull my hair unnecessarily.

Any hair brush thats like a hair bean or tangle teezer.... too many ppl have had setbacks with them.

I don't do denman brushes unless my hair is straight which isn't that often.

I can't stand paddle brushes either even though I heard you use them vertically and not horizontally to avoid breakage darlingdiva

Aloe vera juice ... no good for my lopo hair .... I mix it with french green clay and rosewater for my facial masks

Yeah I heard that too, don't believe it tho.


ETA Actually let me clarify that. I have tried to use certain brushes like paddle and denman brushes vertically with limited success but because my hair is so fragile and the margin of error when using these brushes the proper way is so fine that is just isn't worth the risk of causing breakage trying to use them the "right" way.

I used the curls brule which has aloe Vera juice high on the list and it made my hair super dry. It felt good going on but 10 minutes later it felt dry and it had me confused about whether I moisturizes or not

I have been look for a bonnet later. The small pores in the head part keep getting my hair strands stuck in the little holes and pulling my hair periodically all_1_length

The BSS usually has them for pretty cheap... I would say Wal-Mart/Target but they are both more scarce and expensive than the BSS.

I have a wide tooth comb, a hair dryer with a wide tooth comb attachment, a fine tooth comb for relaxer smoothing, clips to hold hair while relaxing and limited decorative headbands/clips for loose buns. I stay away from just about every other tool/accessory because I either don't know (and don't want to know) how to use them properly or they've damaged my hair in the past.

Prettymetty I am the same way. I won't even use the ouchless ones. Try the dollar store or dollar General. That's where I get mine from.

Me too, I can do my hair without heat, haven't had direct heat in almost two years. Scared too, fear I will get immediate splits. I only use fine teeth combs with roller setting and I mostly do mid length to the ends
