you don't want to sleep in rollers at night. I have a friend who just went to the hair stylist the other day. The stylist told her that her hair was really damaged because she curled it everyday. I tell her that she shouldn't curl it every day and that it will thin out her hair but she says that she hates sleeping in rollers. I think that she believes there is no other way.She has short hair, about 4 to 5 inches, and she likes to do it in the flipped out halle berry style. She is a relaxed 4a/b I think. She was thinking about getting it in braids, but I think that is a bad idea too since her hair is so weak right now. What should I tell her? Suggestions, please.

I know you said that she hated sleeping in roller but there are these rollers made i believe by goodies, but they are called ouchless rollers and they have a satin covering. They feel just like the pillow when going to bed.

There's also the Caruso Hair Curler system that uses steam (not heat) to moisturize and curl hair in minutes.

I'm a fan of just pinning my hair up with metal duckbill clips. I find that you get enough curl and it's not overkill on your head at night.

She can also do about 6 to 8 pincurls. In the morning she will have nice waves/curls.

This is they way I maintain my press. The pin curls lay flat against your head, so as long as you tie it down, you don't have to worry about messing them up (no matter how crazy you sleep). If you do a search on "pin curls" you should yield quite a few good threads with instructions. HTH

1. caruso rollers in the morning
2. pincurling hair at night, covered with a satin bonnet
3. rolling hair with magnetic rollers and taking a bath *steam sets in curl*

anky.. I really like your suggestions.. I'm sure if she tries one of these things, she should see some great results very soon.
