When my roommate & I started school in sept, she had full shoulder length hair. Now its bra strap length.

She doesn't have a regi. She washes her hair like every other week with herbal essence shampoo & conditioner. The only products I've seen her use is a Garnier leave in & hairspray occasionally. She gets her hair blow dry/treated once in a while & when its not straightened, its in a bun.

She told me she used to relax her hair but now she relaxes the edges cause she can't get them as staright as she'd like. I don't know her hair type, but she's dominican. I think she might be a 3a/b.

I keep wishing my hair would grow like that. I know its growing but I feel like it's taking forever. She'll be waistlength n I'll just be getting to armpit.

Yes I'm a bit jealous! Lol :( .

Maybe your just a slow progressive grower. I have come to realize that some months, it just doesn't seem like I made any progress from the months prior. And then out of no where my hair just takes off again. Your hair might be taking hiatuses on certain months (or seasons).

You are most likely not doing anything wrong. Everyone hair is different and hers probably grows at a faster rate than yours. Height also plays a factor. If she is shorter than you, she will get to certain lengths faster. Don't compare yourself to others. I know it may be hard to do. Just focus on taking care of your hair. You will reach your goals.

Aww Your probably not doing anything wrong, maybe shes a hair growing machine. That seems really fast... is she short?

Maybe her hair was more healthy before both of you started growing out your hair. That makes a BIG difference. Don't worry about it too often, your hair looks so pretty in your avatar, you don't even need BSL right now.

OP, judging from your siggy, you've made a LOT of progress. I wouldn't worry. Your time is coming. :)

:yep::yep: exactly...i always try my best not to compare myself to others...hair or any other aspect of life.

Caychica, you've made great progress and you're on the right track! you're not doing a thing wrong :yep::yep:

I'm a slow grower, it took me a full year to go from SL to APL. It's just the nature of the hair growing game, some grow fast and others grow slow.

Everyone is different lady.... My hair doesnt seem to grown much during the winter, but in the summer time it is like a weed....
Make sure your are drinking the water, and eating a good diet too... that never hurt anyone

Don't worry, worrying is not good for your hair. I've been a fan of your hair since you've posted those texture shots. I think your transition is going very well, and like someone said...your time will come.

Thank u for ur responses. I'm trying not to think about it. I'm on my phone so I can reply properly but she did start with healthy hair & mine was far from lol I didn't look at all of that.

to get to WL my hair was in a bun or and updo. i wansnt even aware that i was protective styling. my hair was alwayssss wellll moisturized and buned.

when i use to work at this clothing store, i was hair rasing with this white lady, (secretly) we both were SL and then we both were MBL. my hair grow just as fast as hers if not more. i know for a fact it was the protective styling and DC-ing

I agree with the poster who said your progress looks good so far. Your hair looks so much healthier and thicker in your latest siggy pics. You're doing well. Just be patient and enjoy the stage you're at now.

IA with what most othwrs said. Don't compare yourself. Be consistent with what you know works for you, keep it proctected and keep it moving.

When i get in a hair funk, I like to remind myself about what I like about my hair e.g. I know my growth rate is a bit slower than most others, but I retain like a mutha :yep:
