doing it now... I just use a regular wide tooh comb and a brush. I don't need to flat iron after

Thanks, I ask because I have just done one with a wide tooth comb and am under the dryer as we speak, Im going to flat iron after but just wondered if there will be any problems seen as I didnt use a thin teeth comb. Any thoughts?

I do it also. I use a foam before I start wrapping and then I sit under the dryer for 45 minutes. After that, I apply a little oil and then just comb it out. I don't flat iron.

I used to do this every week. I would detangle with a wide tooth comb, wrap with a fine tooth comb, sit under the dryer for about 30- 45 mins, then go to bed and let the rest dry overnight.

I would comb it out in the morning and it would be smooth and straight. I never flat ironed.

This is how I style my hair when I want to wear it straight. I used to use a wide tooth comb and finish with a fine tooth comb. My beautician uses a small toothed comb. I used leave-in, setting lotion (b/c my hair is coarse) and wrap strips. I dry under a dryer for about an hour. The longer you leave your hair wrapped the better it will hold its shape. But I found that now that my hair doesn't relax as straight as it used to , I have to get it flat ironed afterwards. If I didn't have to I could leave my wraps up longer so they could have that "swang".

This is interesting, I used to wrap wet (withthe paper strips) when I had VERY short hair. I am curious to know how wet wraps look on longer hair, I may try it after my relaxer.

I use a wide tooth comb to detangle and a fine tooth rat tail comb and a brush to do the wrap. I have to use a ton of detangler. My hair is natural so the wrap dosen't come out completely straight. Sometimes I flat iron after and sometimes I don't. I haven't done this in a while, I think I'll try it the next time I shampoo. Your hair will probably come out the straightest if you use some type of setting lotion like lottabody, it really helps to get my hair straight.

I do wet wraps sometimes. After washing my hair I use a leave-in (NTM, Salerm 21, or Lacio Lacio) and bit of essential oil. Next, I wrap using a wide tooth comb and finish it up with a brush to lay the hairs closer together. Then, at bedtime I use a doo-rag(sp) to keep the wrap tight and air dry overnight. I do not use heat, but each day my wrap gets straighter and straighter due to the pressure of the doo-rag.

My siggy pic is an air dry wrap ,but it was only the first day, so it's still very full. HTH

I do wet wraps with a rat tail comb to smooth it and a brush. I get these at the salons too. The more time post relaxer I am, the less smooth they are. I usually always flat iron afterwards because I airdry and my roots dont get as straight because I haven't perfected my wrapping in the middle. My last siggy pic is from a wet wrap and flat iron.

I MUST be an idiot, but HOW does one wet wrap? I've tried this...Kinda like a wet doobie warp but with a scarf tied tight. I was under the dryer for 2 hrs and the hair underneath was STILL wet, and the roots were a h.a.m..... What's the deal? I'm I doing something wrong?

Please help the backwards lady with the jacked up hair (post wet wrap, that is...).

TY!

It didn't work for me because I didn't know how to wrap properly. Wet wrapping severely broke off my crown! I'm STILL recovering from the breakage. That's why my hair always looks thinner in the middle. I don't want to discourage anyone though! It's just because I never knew how to wrap properly.

You can put a large roller in the top of the wrap in the middle (start with the roller than wrap around it) it combas that problem.

Any ladies it does take forever to dry but I may start doing it and sit under the dryer for 3 hours (which Im nomrally under for 2.5 hours with rollers) as the rollers in it self sometimes take me 2 hours to put in! I just need a quick alternative!

[FONT=&quot]I have never wrapped my hair while my hair was wet.

All of the stylists that I have seen do this have always done it on clients that had short hair.

Same thing here, girl. Wetwrapping is much easier after a relaxer IMO. And yes, it takes FOREVER to dry. Ill stick with my rollersetting.:look:

I'm here thinking the same thing. I don't think this option is possible for me, though it seems like a nice thing to experiment with.

I haven't quite mastered wrapping. One side would be bumped, while the other would be straight. I got my best salon wrap at a shop in South Carolina. Once she combed my hair down, she didn't even have to bump my ends. Now that is what I'm talking about! If a wrap is properly done, a flat iron or bumping curling iron isn't necessary. ;)
