Went and got a salon consultation...need advice

I say give her a chance, my colorist is white and I am her first client with my texture and she is gentle, attentive and willing to learn.

I think you should give her a chance as well, especially if she is open and willing to learn, you can teach her what to do for your hair. I would start slow... let her wash, detangle and braid the first trip, maaaybe let her trim depending on how that went. Just remember you are in control of the appointment.
