Ok, just finished no-pooing my hair. I use my biotera leave-in conditioner and start spraying it on as usual. This time my hair starts sudsing up. What does that mean? Now, I rinsed my hair a second time and sprayed on the leave-in and it's sudsing up again! Why is it doing this? It's the strangest thing. It's like I'm putting soap on my hair. Is this some sort of foaming action? Has anyone ever experienced this?

ihave that happen from a creme leave in condtioner ( paul mtchell the conditioner)...I figured maybe that what happens on natural hair with that conditioner....naive I guess

I know I rinse with distilled water that has grapefruit extract to prevent bacteria growth and when I shake that in the bottle it suds...

maybe that's the cause of mine since I put that mix in my hair after washing

I'm so mad!!!

I cannot figure out what's causing this! I've reconditioned, and rerinsed. And still foaming and soapy! This was one part of my routine that I thought I had! Arggh!! I even tried a different leave-in (Allways 911) and still the same thing! Is there something in my hair that's making it do this!
All I did tonite is condition wash with Africa's Best Hair Mayo. Then, I used Kenra Moisturizing. Suds.
Rerinsed. Suds.
Reconditioned with Lustrasilk Deep conditioner. Rinsed. Suds.
Rerinsed. Tried a different leave-in. Suds.
I'm at my wit's end right now!

It could be that you have soft water.

It could be that you have product build-up, especially since you didn't use shampoo.

I use the Biotera Leave-In and haven't experienced this...

I hope you figure it out though.

Hmm, I was thinking product build-up...but I just shampooed on Sunday...
I am using a shower filter so my water may be soft now. This is just the weirdest thing. In all of my years of washing and conditioning my hair, I never experienced this.
I gave up and just combed the foamy conditioner through my hair though it was harder than normally combing leave-in through. I just don't get it...

Good idea, Marla

I will try a clarifying shampoo over the weekend. I'm thinking Pantene clarifying shampoo.

Thanks.

This is funny that you mention this. Last night I used Eluence Moisture RT and it foamed !! I was like WTF. Anyway aside from the foaming I don't care for it too much.

cutebajangirl,

are you talking about the Elucence Extended Moisture Repair Treatment? If so, it's supposed to foam alittle bit

I washed my hair today with Pantene Clarifying Shampoo. Then, I deep conditioned with Kenra Moisturizing Shampoo. Upon the first squirt of the Biotera leave-in, I got suds. I don't know what it is...I wish I could figure it out!
Going to buy another bottle of the Biolage leave-in and see if there's a difference next time. It's so hard detangling through foam!

Yep, sounds like that would be totally frustrating. Maybe the Kenra is leaving your hair soooo moisturized that the leave-in has no place to go

The verdict is in...it was the Biotera causing the suds! I used Biolage today and got no suds and excellent detangling!
The difference I noticed is this...when I shake up the Biotera in a spray bottle, it suds up right there in the bottle. When I shake up the Biolage in a spray bottle, it just looks like milk...no suds. So, I guess it's the same on my hair.
Supergirl, you say the Biotera doesn't suds for you? Wonder if there was a bad batch at Sally's...

No,

I have a great time with the Biotera! It is a clear, thin serum type of liquid. My Biolage is milky looking even without shaking. Maybe you did get an old batch at Sally's. But didn't you say that your 911 was doing the same thing too?

You're right...the Biolage is pretty milky looking even before shaking. The Biotera was just sudsy...so strange. And yes, the 911 did foam on my hair, too. Not sure what that one is about but I'm glad the Biolage is working!
