Bumping! What's the consensus here? I'm interested in using heat once a month and maintaining straight hair by wrapping. Anyone had luck with this?

i have 3b texlaxed hair. I use heat once a week, only using heat MAYBE once or twice if I want my bangs extra curly and even then my iron doesnt go above 340. But I cowash and DP every week, and wet wrap set my hair the night before. It gets my hair pretty straight so all I have to do is go over it on a low setting to smooth things out. So the only time heat see's my hair is that one 45 minute shindig we have when smoothing things out. But I can get away with no extra heat for a full week after washing normally.

I have noticed a lot of shedding recently and I think that is due to a lack of moisture control (possibly protein) on my part. Gonna experiment with that and see if that helps.
