Okay Ladies, I am 10 days out from my wedding day and have decided on a timeless look....yeah, the bun! As much as it gets on my nerves, with my dress being strapless, I think this is the best option for me. At my final fitting I had the bun and it was so elegant. So anyhow...I want a full folded bun...I'm thinking I can do it myself....I think it's just straight hair in a ponytail holder....tracks wrapped around folded under and pinned right? I'm going to try it this weekend to be sure I can create it before I rule out the stylist....SO is this correct? or any other tips?

I'm going for this look...

Thanks!!!

I really really like that look however it looks really challenging. Are you sure you want to frustrate yourself w/ that on your wedding day?

As simple as it seems, I would not do it myself. For my wedding my hair was simply curled and even though it was simple, my mind was on making sure everything else was done right that I don't believe I would want to miss with my hair. How about you try it now and see how easy it is and not wait for the wedding day to do it, if you really want to do it yourself. Try it out a couple of times with different accents and see how it works for you.

A bun would be beautiful, but IMO, it should be done by a professional. If you can't do it on your own, you'll be left trying to scramble to figure out a hairstyle. And keep in mind, you probably will want your pics to be flawless, and hairdos done at home often tell on themselves. There was a girl in a wedding I was in some years ago. The bride asked everyone to go to a stylist, but this girl insisted on doing her hair herself. Her hair was coming down, she had a thousand visible pins in it, it looked dry, and when the pics came out, it looked even worse. I would definitely go to a beautician that specialized in updos. Well, I definitely don't want that to happen. Ok....well I think I'll just go to the stylist then.

Thanks Ladies!!
