I put a applicator nozzle on the bottle and I just put it on the scalp in between the tracks of my sewin.

I have mega tek in an applicator bottle, however, I squeeze it on my fingertip and then rub it on my scalp. I'm very light handed with it. I think doing it this way will help cut down on the build up inbetween the braids.

I also put mine in an applicator bottle mixed with a little bit of leave-in conditioner (to make it a bit thinner) and put it on the scalp in between the tracks. I do this every night or every other night and wash with diluted shampoo and conditioner once a week.

Thanks ladies!!! I have a few more questions if yall don't mind: Hey what is the consistency of this stuff? I am getting a straight weave soon, what have you ladies experience with mt and straight weaves?

Thanks yall

Nik

I don't think the texture of ur weave should matter b/c basically u're applying the product directly 2 ur scalp. As long as u don't have product spilling over n2 ur weave I don't think it should be a problem.

Cosigning on using an applicator tipped bottle 2 apply 2 my scalp in between the braids. :yep:

Hi!

I have been in sew ins since September. I did use MT for 3 weeks during that time. When I took down my weave I had some good growth but also some breakage. Please be sure to keep moisturizing as you use the MT with a weave and also be sure to constantly check the condition of your hair. Remember that its not so easy to wash your hair when its in a sew-in and therefore there might be some heavy protein build up in your braids.
But if you moisturize well it should be good and yes, the growth is great!

Did the breakage come from the matting due to the product build up?

Did the breakage come from the matting due to the product build up?

Hi. I did not have any matting and I did wash my hair but not as often as I would without the sew-in. I just suspect that due to the braids and all I did not fully rinse out the product from my head leading to some build-up and possibly to the breakage. Just my theory.

The consistency is like a thick conditioner. For me, diluting with a liquid leave in helps me not apply too much. I have a straight weave and have found that when I'm not careful about getting the MT and my moisturizer only on my scalp, it can get onto the hair and weigh it down and make it look greasy. That's easily fixed when I wash with diluted shampoo and condition.

That's a good idea. I think I may try that. Which liquid leave in are you using?

I use Optimum Care Anti Breakage Therapy Leave-In Ultimate Strengthener. I love this stuff! :drunk: Not only do I use it in my MT mix, but I also use it to help detangle when I take down my sew-ins-no breakage!

After I take all of the tracks out, I spray this leave in on my braids. When I unravel the braids, my hair feels so soft and does not snag or tangle.

I also use this as a leave in on wash days (both when I'm wearing a sew in or on my transitioning hair).

I used it with my sew-in. I got the sew in at the beginning of September and took it down Sunday(10-19-08). My hair grew so much with that sew-in and MT/Ovation. I put it in one of those applicator bottles from Walmart with the pink top that has about 5 holes in it. I would use it daily and co-wash every other day. I was sure to spray between the tracks with Carefree Curl after I applied the mixture. I didn't have any breakage, but noticed the bottom was starting to matt together just a tad bit. The next time I' m just going to wear a half wig.
