Has anyone not added additional hair to their cornrows when getting tracks put in? If so, did the style last as long as when you added hair? Was their any damage to your hair?

TIA

This is how I get my installs done, with no hair added. There hasn't been any damage to my hair. I just make sure to still wash and DC weekly and moisturize daily or every other day. It took me from APL to grazing BSB in about 3 months. :)

i hardly ever add hair cause my hair is so thick..

no damage was done when no additional hair was added.

i have been doing my own installs lately and i make sure to be careful when pulling the thread through the tracks.

in the beginning of my journey when I was wearing weaves, I used braiding weave (kanekalon) and braided it up with my real hair before sewing on the tracks. this was a good way to protect my hair from damage, you have to keep your real hair moist though.

I never use additional when I do my installs....honestly I do not feel that is necessary unless you hair is thinning.

I don't use additional hair and have never had a problem. The only time I had a problem is when I did use it.
If you use it, I suggest soaking the kanekalon hair in a vinegar/water solution to remove the finish they put on it. That finish is very irritating to some people's scalps.
Kanekalon can also be a little drying to your hair, so you want to make sure that you moisturize your hair under that weave. Hopefully, they weave it in a way that allows you access to your scalp.
Good luck!

I usually don't get extra hair added to mine. As long as the braids are small and secure it'll hold up fine. I've also found that sometimes the added hair can dry your hair out.
