okay i just got a wonderful weave done today and i want to keep it up and looking good...and I hate to have to worry about getting up early in the morning and having to bump/curl it....my question is how do some of you wrap your weaves and what items do i need?? I already have alot of scarves, but i had issues with keeping the hair in place and trying to put the scarf...ive never been good at this do you use clips or hair pins or something to keep the hair in place....

Thanks

Just wrap it like you would your own hair. You might need some hair pins to keep it in place but that's it. And then put your scarf on. I usually use a paddle brush to wrap mines. It's easier than using a comb.

Get a good brush, it's your weave's best friend. Something like this:

<------- I believe this is a Denman paddle brush. Generally your brush should be wide, with round ended tips. It's so much easier than using a comb.

When I'm wearing a straight weave what I do sometimes is put in into a single braid at the back, or a number of single braids, put on some coconut oil or a little leave-in, and put on my bonnet/scarf.(can you tell i'm a lazy bum :p) By morning when you take out the braids you have very nice looking waves, a few brush strokes and you're out the door.

^^^ That's the brush!! You can get any brush that has those type of bristles. I bought a Conair one from the dollar store. It's hot pink and I love it! LOL Isioma you're good. I don't even wanna do that much. The real reason I stopped wearing straight weaves was bc I was too lazy to wrap it or curl it. I wash, DC and air dry one day out the week. The rest of the days I just roll out the bed, shake my head and go.

thanks ladies ive already made a list of what i need to go and pick up....does anyone know how i can maybe get the texture of the weave(its silky like) to not be so silky like or am i just stuck with this texture until i go with a different type of hair weave brand??? or does anyone have any good suggestions of good weave hair that i can order for the next time that it is very close to our own texture of hair?

Hmm, well if you got silky straight I don't know any methods of getting it to be less silky. I've heard that for synthetic weaves a little bit of baby powder reduces that plasticky shine they tend to have - but I don't know about doing that with the HH ones! Maybe if you washed and airdried that would help.

If you want a more natural looking texture, ask the person at the BSS specifically to bring you kinky hair. (I'm not sure that's the correct term actually) What I do is ask for silky straight, then tell them it's too silky and then they start to bring out the ones that look more like regular hair. It's better if you have them all out and compare them on the counter, you really see the difference that way and make a better choice. I don't have any particular brand names in mind, sawwy. :o

oh no i didnt get silky hair..maybe it'll just take that one wash that'll get rid of some of the silky like texture...i have yaki Black Diamond hair..and its light weight but it just feels kind of silky like to me..when i looked at and felt the texture of the hair it felt really nice and textured....maybe next time i'll go towards something with a more of a loose wave to it so i dont have to worry about gettin up in the morning and curling it...

Well, it's all relative to what your hair looks like. Me and one of my gfs always buy Outre New Yaki Platinum when we get straight weaves because it's thinner looking than some other brands. We both have fine hair. However on the other hand, one of my other gfs buys Milky Way bc it looks more coarse in the pack. It matches her hair better. You just have to go to the BSS and feel the hair. Maybe put it up to your hair so you can see which one matches the best. Each brand is different.
