Weave... For A Doll?

A few years ago, I got the "Taryn" Journey Girls doll for my daughter.

At the time, my daughter's hair wasn't that long, so her hair kind of matched the doll's, and she was happy with it. But the doll has been increasingly neglected as my daughter's hair has grown. Now she tells me she would like the doll much better if it had long hair like hers. Might it be possible to achieve that with a cheapish pack of weave hair? Anyone ever add weave to a doll's head? I have no experience with weave.

Hmm the proper way would be to get rid of the old hair and insert the new hair in the doll's head with a large needle (for reborn dolls)and glue it from the inside with a paint brush.
Another way could be braiding extension to the hair .

I did see a YouTube video showing something like that, but it was a doll that just had the original hair glued on; this one has individual locks coming through a gazillion little holes, and the head is tightly attached so it seems it might break if I try to pull it off.

I didn't think of extensions, but that might be easier, thanks.
