Weave addiction: is it true once u go weave

Before I met my DH, I would wear weaves. Later, I found out just how much he loved my real hair. He couldn't stand it when I added faux hair. He didn't like the concept or anything about it. Whenever he saw my new growth, he would just marvel at it. So, I did the BC and stopped perming and wearing weaves.

I had a serious addiction. I just broke it a couple of weeks ago. I'm lovin' my hair!

No its not true I broke my addiction to PERMS and WEAVES...and I was the LAST person you would EVER expect to do that...

I had to slowly transistion out of weaves, wigs, and braids. I wore them for years and years. You just become dependent on them because they are so easy.

I have been wig/weave free for about 6 or 7 years but I'm thinking of giving half wigs or LF's a try now.

I must say that I am addicted to weave. It started with 2 or 3 tracks for fullness. Then it went from that to brazillian's. I stopped wearing the brazillian for a while and just rocked my own hair for like a year and then i went right back to weaves when i moved to FLorida in 2007 lol. I had the same hair dresser since i was 12 and decided I didt want anyone new in my hair so I just got a full head. In 2008 I had a sudden urge to cut my hair like Rihanna, permed it and regretted it so But it did help my hair grow when i decided to go natural again after i got over the rihanna cut. My hair grew to shoulder length in a year and then i finally cut off all the straight ends back in may of this year. I did the natural hair thing from may to august and now i am right back to a full head again in attempt to grow my natural hair even more. The only difference is that I am not wearing natural hair weaves lol

Maybe is because i don't know how to take care of my hair when on weaves. I used it one time, with relaxed hair, was a very long black weave. I felt soooo beautiful with it. I kept it for 20 days, and my hair starts to fall out and had not shine.

That was when i was in Dominican Republic, the weaher there is so hot, my head smelled awful. When i washed my hair, it did not felt completely clean, and smell like it was not completly dry. Euuuk.

After that i never tryed them again, it was a bad experience to my hair. But now that my hair is natural, i feel like i wanna try it, but i dom't really like people think my hair is fake, so that's why i havn't do it. >___<

well i did a big chop. Plus i have a big head. when you have no hair that = big problem.

Thus, i'm rocking a afro kinky weave until i have hair like Netta1.

Otherwise, with my little 4" of hair, i'd scare away friends and family.

I am not going to lie, when I first started wearing weaves, I was addicted. So much so that I wore weaves consistently (without breaks) for years. Then it became like a crutch because my hair was soooo damaged, I felt I couldn't step out of the house without one. I literally wore weaves until my hair was about 1-2 inches. Yup. And some areas, it wasn't even that long.

I started "transitioning" out of weaves, by wearing braids. Then when my hair was long enough for me to feel comfortable wearing it down, I did. Here is a pic of my hair around the time I started wearing it down:

it was thin, weak, and uneven, but I did it until I had a bob. (this was all pre-lhcf)
