SerenityBreeze, what do you do with your hair at night and how do you prepare your hair for the Carusos?

I always wash and air dry my hair. The caruso rollers are able to give me shiny boucncy curls after the set. Every night I moistruize my ends and sleep on a satin pillow. I use them every morning.

what do you moisturize with?

 I tried my Carusos this weekend and I LOVE them! My hair has never been able to keep curl like this more than 1 day. This is definitely "it" for me. I just threw all of my curling irons away!

I've been experimenting with my Caruso for the past few days. I've discovered that if I use the Caruso in the morning (medium and large rollers) and then pin curl my hair at night, the next morning, my hair has nice loose soft curls.

Howdy ladies, I am normally a lurker, but had to reply to this thread about the Caruso rollers. After reading your posts and seeing some of your pictures, I just HAD to go out a buy a set. The $3 off coupon at Sally's also twisted my arm. I tried them out for the first time yesterday as I had a retirement party to go to for my manager. I read the instructions the night before, and made mental notes of some of your tips and tricks when you use them. I use some setting lotion on my hair and rolled my entire head using most of the medium size rollers and a few large ones. After 15 minutes, I had really nice bouncy curls---I rolled my hair using the spiral set method. I was very impressed and couldn't stay out of the mirror! I received so many compliments at the party about my curly hair. The Caruso system was very easy to use and I loved the fact it took about 15 minutes for my hair to set. Thank you ladies for putting your thoughts on this out there!

In my other picture, I used the carusos with very little product in my hair. I remember one of you ladies saying that little to no product was best. Anyway, wednesday I used them and it had been four days since I washed my hair last. Product build-up was the best thing to ever happen to me. lol. The curls looked like salon curls and I kept getting compliments left and right. One of my friends took some pics and as soon as she e-mails them to me, I will post them. So yea, I recommend lots of product prior to use.

I actually used the rollers... couldnt find ultra compact digi cam to take pics.. lol... Here is MY SNYPOSIS of what I thought:

I first wahsed hair, and blow it dry, then put curls in... The curls came out pretty good for first rushed try ((same time trying to get ready to go out... ))... but oversoem time they started to frizz up... and when running fingers thru curl dropped... I was disappointed, because I know for what the other girls have been saying which is product buildup does wonders... I may do my hair like this for tomorrow...But may thru somethings in hari overnight to thicken it up... The curls did come out superb, but just didnt last for me...

Do these work on natural or texturized hair?
Yes, I'm not sure if all models have instructions for naturals but one did that I owned. I'll see if I can find it on LHCF when I posted it...

did you use endpapers? And, how long did you leave the rollers in? My first set came out curly and frizzy. I now use end papers and leave my rollers in for at least 20 minutes. My curls last all day.

I had Carusos and gave that set to my mom and purchased the Ionic ones. I have a few tips, I hope they help:

- a couple drops (2-4) of setting lotion mixed with your water will help the curls last
- to eliminate frizz make sure your hair is TOTALLY dry before you take out the rollers (I wait 20- 25 mins my hair is very thick)
- end papers will protect your ends from the sponge on your rollers and keep your ends from getting too wet so they dry quicker and smoother
- if you need to moisturize do it before you put it the rollers in
- a dab of serum (NTM serum is the best) on your ends will help eliminate frizz

I gave these tips to my mom before I gave her the rollers, she hasn't had a bad set yet.

HTH

I bought these rollers with high expectations and was dissapointed. I tried washing and blowdrying and rolling my hair using serum, but the curls were very frizzzy. Then I tried rolling my hair that had been straightened days before. It turned out alright but ima give it another try.

I have very thin hair and it is very picky. With the Caruso's I use product and because my hair is thin, I put the curler on for 5 to 6 seconds and I let my hair dry up to 10 to 20 minutes. I get no frizz and the curls last, which is funny to me being that my hair changed after my daughter and health problems. I do notice they work better for hair of color with product build up, but not too much build up.
