I know im not the only one with this problem. i know getting retouches/natuarally dries your scalp anyway.
Does anyone have a remedy to lesson the problem/certain moisturizers to penetrate the scalp?
I started using Profectiv RootHealth which helps with this but I never really had problems with a dry scalp unless I blowdry my hair without any moisture or oils on my scalp. Even though some may disagree, you might wanna go back to the good ol' grease!
I usually don't put anything on my scalp after touchup because scalp so fragile after being exposed to the caustic chemicals in the relaxers. Why not just give you scalp a few days to "rest" so that it can produce its own oils? Dryness from the touch-up should be only a temporary problem until your next wash.
Personally, I do not put anything on my scalp after I get my re-touches. I usually wait a few days or a week to wash my hair. And when I wash my hair I like to apply seabreeze to my scalp since it will remove all oils, scabs ect.. without damaging my hair or scalp. Other than using seabreeze I use olive oil or carrot oil cream on my scalp every few days in between washing my hair.
I have never experienced a dry scalp after a touch up.....I would think a post-relaxer conditioner would take care of that. Not to mention, I always add a dollop of carrier/ essential oils to my conditioners.....
I need something on my scalp after a touch-up, there is no way in the world.
If I don't put anything on it, it will itch and dry up like crazy. African Pride has nice greases (I like the castor oil by them, but my hairdresser uses the herbal one) are good, in my opinion.
