It's almost that time to get my braids redone and I want to try something different. Today I saw a biracial young lady with the wavy/curly type hair and I thought it would look good if I got my hair braided an inch from the root and the tied at the end to prevent from coming unbraided. I think this would definitely be cute for the Spring/Summer if Ican find the right hair. I know they carry wet and wavy yaky human hair, but would I be able to achieve this look with this hair? I've seen people use it in the past and it looked a mess. It looked very dry and mattted if it wasn't sprayed with water. Is ther any other type of human hair I can purchase to achieve the look I desire?

I've seen ladies with that type of hair style and it looked to me like a lion's mane because it was dry and poufy.

If you don't want to constantly wet the hair, try the water wave which stays wavy wet or dry. If you don't want it too poufy, try french refined. Try european wave for more waves and curls.

Stay away from zig zag wave or zig zag curl because it can look too artificial

You could also put Sebastian Wet on the hair. That's what I use on my Wavy weaves and it makes it look Wet all day long even though it's dry... It makes it a little stiff but it does the job and stops the poofiness dead in it's tracks.

And also get a good brand of hair.

Boadicea is right. That type of hair will look good up to your first wash, then it starts to look poofy and matted.

Boadicea,

LOL, that's the look I am trying to avoidI'll probably just take myself over to Irvington, New Jersey on Springfield Avenue and check out their selection. It's a shame my hair purchasing always becaome a major project. Either I'm driving all over NJ to find the perfect length or color(sigh!)

Hey Crystal, does that work well on actual hair? Like if I was to use the Sebastian Wet on my hair, will it keep it looking wet the same way?

Well it's a product that is supposed to make your hair look wet even though it's dry hence the name "wet" I have 4a and when I would wear it with my wavy weave the front of my hair was out and I'd put it on that part of my hair and it worked just fine. I never put it all over my hair but I think it would work best with type 1-3 hair or 4 relaxed. I don't think I'd recommend it for natural hair.

It dries kind of stiff though, but it's mainly to keep a curly style curly and frizz free and to look like it's still wet. But it works wonders on Wavy Weaves.

hth.

Thanks! I'm gonna get some! They sell Sebastian products at the CVS near here. I am praying that those aren't knock-offs.

Okay, a few more questions.

Does the look of the product last for one day, and you have to reapply it? Is it a gel? Or is it a line or category from Sebastian titled "Wet." I just don't want to pick up the wrong thing.

Thanks again!

Wet is the name of the Sebastians product. And you'll have to use it everyday.

Unfortunely,I think I'm going to have to ditch the idea. I went to a Beauty Supply store Hillside,NJ that had an extensive selection of human and synthetic hair. Everything looked so "manmade" with the waves and curls. I guess I'll keep it straight and change the color this time.

I order my wavy weaves from the Hair Factory or Adorable Hair Do. From the Hair Factory I get the New York Wavy II and from Adorable I get Adorable Spanish Wavy.

They're expensive like $75 per Quarter pound of hair (I get two) but it looks so good. I usually get my Best Friend to buy if for me as a birthday gift and it lasts about a year(switching up styles though... not wearing it for an entire year)

But I usually get the weft and sew it in. I think the hair factory may sell it in bulk, but I'm not sure. You may be able to cut it off.

So if you don't mind plopling down the money I'd recommend one of these two places. My birthday is in June so it's time to hit up my girl for a present so I can rock my wavy weave this summer.
