My girlfriend's hair been growing very well in her individual braids but now it kinda seem to come to a halt. Is it because she dont wash her hair enough? If that's the reason, she didnt wash her hair because she feared her braids would get messed up. she didnt wash her braids until they started to look ragedy anyway. What is the best way to wash braided hair without it getting messed up?

I washed my in sections...Like i section them off and braided them into four large braids. And then I poured diluted shampoo over my head. I didnt russle or msasage my hair because the braids look frizzy after you do that.

Yes, she must wash her hair if only to keep her scalp clean and hence her pores free from product build-up and dirt. Sectioning her hair and putting the singles in big plaits is indeed a good move and perhaps putting rubber bands (the friendly kind if you will) at the end of the plaits to keep them from unravelling during the wash. She should focus on massaging her scalp with the shampoo on (in fact when applying shampoo, she should aim it onto her scalp, whether dilute or neat and then use her fingertips to loosen dirt). Then when she starts rinsing, before fully washing off the suds, she should allow the partly dilute shampoo to run through her hair, at which point she should use a squeezing motion to clean the hair. Then fully rinse. Repeat as necessary, ie till the suds are no longer dirty.

My favorite part of a wash is the ACV rinse I do at the end, when I submerge my braids into a basin of ACV solution and massage my scalp. Leaves it feeling so squeaky clean...I could swear it's taking deep breaths of air.
