I've been a member for sometime, and this is my 1st time posted a thread....I am posting to spread the word that you can accomplish anything you set for yourself...Thanks to you ladies(too many to mention) I have a new head of hair and I've reached my goal of BSL(in back-earlier than expected). The tips I've learned, rather it be choosing the right products to techniques and my fav. peice of knowledge-"PROTECTIVE STYLES"...have been a life saver.

My 1st attempt at straightening my hair went okay(I know I'll get better-2" of roots I just couldnt get to), but I cried...when I ran to the mirror after my mom finished the back sections. I got a little restless as had not realized the amount of hair on my head. natural hair shrinks like nobody's business....

I began with limp, very fine, rough ends with lots of color damage.
As of today I have healthier, MUCH thicker hair, Strong strands, and volume...A new head of hair is POSSIBLE. 7/05- I went to curves and knew from that exp.(BAD!) that I would never let another stylist touch my hair(they cut off 5" of hair)...And here is what resulted.
To all fine hair ladies- we can have full volume hair!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU..........to the ladies of LHCF!
Good growing ladies!

Congratulations, your hair is beautiful. It's so nice to read your story, there is hope for us yayyyy :dance7:

So tell us all about it then, how long it took, what you did get beautiful healthy hair. What is your regime?

Congratulations:grin:

What an inspiration!!!!!

I have fine hair, so this means a lot to me, My hair is getting thicker and I can't wait to make a testimony like this one:D

Thanks so much, ladies!

Oh! I forgot to mention MSM...Boy this is a wonderful vitamin...I really believe that vitamins, diet and excercise plays a big part in growing and most importantly retention.

My regimen:
1st year- Wash 2-3/week(wanted to improve health, first)
1st wash-Protein treatment followed by followed by Moisturizing conditioner once per week.
2nd wash- Deep Conditioner followed by sealing ends w/ oil while damp with a plat iron.
3rd wash- MNT conditioner followed with Kids Organic SBM

2nd year- Wash Every 2 weeks(now concentrating on retaining length)
1st wash for the month- MNT, seal ends with coconut oil, castor oil...
2nd wash for the month- RedKen Washing Cream, Deep conditioner(I started mixing conditioner(PJ'ism begone) to make my own deep conditoiner...

I wash less, b/c its simply less manipulation...I saw a girl on this thread(4B)who wore wigs for 3yrs. and went from thin earlength to MB and thicker hair.

For shedding- Garlic conditioner
For color damage- Protein followed by Strengthening conditioner/Moisture
For Split ends- oil seal on damp hair

MTG has helped bigtime, along with WGO. I protect all the time. And will continue for another year. Boring-yes(well not all the time)...
Results- absolutely!

Way to grow girl! you've accomplished alot! I think your keeping it simple really worked for you! I'm on that wig challenge too so I'm just waiting for them to arrive so I can get nice results like you!

Congrats CurlyJ :)
I remember when you started your journey.
We were at the same length of 8" so your progress is amazing and inspiring.
Gotta step my game up.
HHG Your hair is beautiful!

Lucky you Alexei(I think I pm'd you a while back)...I wish MBL was only 21"... I hadnt realized how being tall(long neck) would make my journey longer. But healthy hair was and will always be something that I strive for. Length is just the icing on the cake.

WOW WOW WOW!! Thanks so much for sharing your story and your pics. It really helps us naturals dealing w/shrinkage, breakage and all that jazz when we see the kind of progress you've made.

Kudos to you for sticking with a solid regimen and achieving your goals. In 6 months you'll be on here posting your waist length pics!:grin:
