Wanted TIps: Continuing to Retain Length When on Path of Success

I think a few of us need general tips on how to stay on the path of happy healthy hair success when growing our hair out. I know for me, once I get a few inches, I get real happy and begin to wear my hair out more, try to do ubber cute (and unhealthy styles) and slack on the moisturizing because I am content with the length I am right now. Two months later, and I'm back where I started. Because of that I'm STILL trying to get to the coveted APL. I'm not far away at all, but I'm still trying to scrap for those one or two more inches.

What are some tips to continue on the road of success, and not slack off when seeing progress.

Like for example, did you notice that you needed to handle your hair differently as you approached longer lengths such as APL and BSL?

Did you have to up the moisturizing to achieve your goals?

What got you over the little hump of one or two inches to APL, BSL, or MBL

I just think of it like this: It's winter. I need to bun, but, it's boring. If I cowash and bun for my entire stretch I will have longer, healthier hair. The longer my hair, the more I get to enjoy fun braidouts and BIGGER cute, wet and wavy buns. So, my impatience makes me bun. And once it's over, it's over, I'll be happy I did it.

Put down the comb! Resist the urge to undo your bun and re-style. I'm learning this right now and it's not easy.

Also, find your moisture protein balance. I'm almost in the zone and strong hair is so much less stressful.

Finally, drink lots of water. Your body needs it, and the healthier you are, the healthier your hair.

Happy growing!!

Yeah this is what I do, luckily my job, im able to wear a bun everyday, cause my hair can't be below my collar, so Im good. It looks boring but, when I do get my hair done, its just lovely.

you better put that hair up in a nice little bun and moisturize. or you can get a rod set and wear that for a week. just stay on top of moisturizing and sealing your ends. put castor oil on the ends.
