Do you agree with this? I have noticed that my hair appears thicker after trims

I have noticed that if the cut is blunt. I'm so silly I'd rather have limp hair with length than a nice bob with volume.

My hair is cut blunt for that very reason. I started the year out w/a shoulder-length bob, and it's grown out quite a bit since January. Now I'm just trying to maintain w/periodic trims so I won't have to go that short again. I originally had layers, but since my hair is relaxed, the layers made it look too thin.

Yep - of course, it's true! (at least, in my opinion!) Hopefully, if you've had splits/breakage along with the way, if you get a good trim, your hair will "look" thick again. I'm amazed at how thick my own hair was after my cut in July. Now, if only I can keep it that way.

I am convinced trims make your hair look thicker

Got this from another thread:

I think what happens is that although your hair might not be breaking enough for ALL of your hair to be noticable shorter, the spots that are shorter make the rest of your ends look real thin and scraggly (you know what I mean?). And then in the long run you wind up having to trim off those ends that look "see through". Before LHCF, this was the constant state of my hair (mostly b/c I use to LOVE my blow dryer/flat iron) and I would always wind up cutting off the length b/c I hate to see people holding on to thin ends just for the sake of showing the length

But for me breakage over time causes my hair to appear thinner

I think a 2 inch trim will give some fullness

yeah my stylist says i need a trim, but i dont see any splits, i guess the ends amy look a litte scraggly...i guess i will let her clip my ends but i will have to monitor that lady to make sure she does not over doit..cause i will hurt somebody up in there is she gets scissor happy.....

I am talking about mid-shaft breakage that has been causing my hair to appear then

1-2 inches off will make a hellava difference, I think.

I agree. When hair is trimmed/cut nicely it looks so much heathier. This is why I had no problem cutting my hair which was past my shoulders and is now just to the bottom of my neck. My ends were thinning and getting "see through". My hair looks and is healthier and I find that I do not have to do as much to it becuase it is cut so well. Even when I air dry it looks good.

I definetely agree, an inch or two inch trim makes a big difference. Two inches of hair will grow back in no time and look a lot healthier. Then you can just gets little baby trims to maintain the health of your ends. I am going for a well needed trim tommorrow afternoon .

There not split either

My hair looks really thick after a month post retouch. Trims don't really make much of a difference for me but that may be because I always do them right after a touch-up.

Clean blunt ends=healthy hair=thicker hair=swooshy swingy hair!!!

Gotta love those fresh trims :-)

Be careful not to get to carried away...

I certainly agree with getting regular trims. There's no use of keeping damaged ends just to maintain length. Beautiful hair is healthy....long damaged hair is just long ugly damaged hair. I say get trims when need, when ends split trim them off.

Definitely. Even the slightest little bit helps. You don't have to trim often IMO - but when you do your hair does look really good....nice and thick and lush.

when I damaged my hair from coloring .. it was about shoulder length .. I just cut it in to a bob chin length and started all over again with good ends and a blunt cut. .. my hair is very thick any way ... but it will make it appear to be full .
