Pink Flower you were on point about the VS steam hair setter! I love it! This is really one of the best investments that I have ever made. My hair was cut in layers friday and also a fresh relaxer done. I have sooooooooooo much bounce and volume!!!! I am always pressed for time and this has taken some of the stress out of my day! I am going to Sally's to purchase more of the jumbo rollers made by Caruso to use with it.
Thanks for your review.
My Best, Yolanda

YEA!!! :creatures

I'm so glad you like them! Aren't they a life saver? Once you figure out the process styling your hair becomes a cinch!

Thanks for the shout out :)

I love these rollers too. I like how my hair feels when I take them out. Making note that Sally's carries the jumbo rollers.

How long do your curls last when you use these?

can anyone tell me how long it takes for the rollers to heat up? and also how long do u have to leave the rollers in ur hair to get a good set? I have to conair roller set and it takes too long to heat up so i barely use them. It takes like 20mins to heat up, which is too long for me. then i leave them on for about 15mins, which ain't bad.

thanks!

I just purchased this on Amazon.com. I hope they work well for me too. My hair is getting too long to the point where it won't really hold a curl and I don't want to flat iron it everyday to put a bend in it.

It only takes 1 or 2 minutes to heat up and I leave the rollers in for like 5 minutes (or 10 minutes if I want tighter curls)

Say word!!!!! :D gurllll, this is music to my ears....I'm going ot drop past sallys this weekend to get me one. i love the curly look, lately i been wearing soft rollers at nite. but id love to just use rollers in the morning.

I have the caruso rollers which are just like the V.S. My system heats up in under a minute. I usually only steam the rollers for about five secs and leave in my hair no longer than a minute. I can't stand tight curls unless that is the look I am deliberatley going for. I use mine every day which is the only way I have managed to stay curling iron free since last November.

I am so glad you ladies are jumping on the Vidal Sassoon bandwagon!

I hate to say I told you so [let me stop lying], but....

How are you doing pink flower!

How is that going? No breakage no damage! Is it not damaging to your hair! I just bought the VS setter (PJ since this site) on ebay for 2.50, 10.45 with shipping and hadling!

I just bought this??

There aren't any Sally's that are convenient for me to get to.
Where did you ladies buy your rollers? I see that Target.com has them for $19.99...did you find them anywhere cheaper?

Thanks!

I bought mine from Amazon.com $18.99 plus S&H
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...35822?_encoding=UTF8&n=3760931&s=hpc&v=glance

I have been using mine alot lately. After I wash and condition I put in my WGO and leave-in then let my hair air dry. Once 90% dry I put the rollers in and my hair comes out nice and smooth. I add a little oil to the ends and put in a bun for the night.

I usually leave them in 30 mins (just because) but I will try only 10 minutes next time for a more loose curl.

Anyone wanting to purchase a VS steam Roller set. I have one for $12 plus shipping and handling! PM me if you are interested.

Are you guys flat ironing your hair before you roll it? Also are you airdrying or blowing it out?

My hair doesn't airdry very well, so I always blowdry, flat iron the roots and then use the rollers.

jlove,I just saw your album and your hair looks so healthy. Your hair comes out great with the VS rollers. I've used mine twice and they come out okay.

Thank you :) When you say that your hair comes out "okay" what are you doing, specifically are you leaving the rollers on the steam too long and what, if any, products are you using?

well it gave me curls that lasted but for some reason the ends would always come out funny.not frizzy but they would be kind of bent. i guess thats because i need practice rollersetting. the last time i did it i moisturized then added coconut oil to seal and then put the rollers on. i try not to leave the rollers on the steam for very long. maybe about 20 seconds.

are you using any specific product. can u explain your technique? Thanks.

Girl, 20 seconds is toooo long. You olny need to leave them on for about 5-7 seconds (yes, I count :) ). Any longer and the rollers retain too much water. Everything else sounds ok. I bet when you lessen the steam time, your hair won't be frizzy :)

My lil process:
wash, let air dry a bit with my hair in a ponytail and a baggy on the ends with moisturizer and sealent.
Blow dry
Flat iron the roots (I got too, i'm 17 weeks post)
Roll
leave in for at least 15 min after I've placed the last roller
take out roller
use some oil and frizz serum (I use Giovanni Frizz Be Gone) in my hands and run through my hair, finger combing

Hope this makes sense.
