I was just researching this last night. It looks so tempting. How did she use it on your hair, did she just apply it to each section and flat-iron? Is it a wet gel or a cream? For some reason I thought it was to be used as a gel. TIA

It's blue and it's between a wax and grease. It gives a good shine, doesn't leave your hair hard and it's not greasy.
I hope I explained that right. :)

Thanks! You explained it perfectly. Is the only place to purchase online or is it carried in BSS's?

I pruchased mine at my local BSS.

A little goes a very long way.

I like this stuff too. I haven't purchased some in a minute, but when I was in L.A. I would use this for two strand twists sometimes. I don't what's in it or how the heck they do it, but that's some killa product right there. At least imo.

I keep the Stylying Wax on hand sometimes too. It's heavier but still not as heavy as straight beeswax and stuff of that sort. The container is bigger than the SE and it's pink instead of blue. It lasts though. I've had the same one for a few years.

I've used this for about 3 years now. I now alternate between the SE and Garnier Brilliante Wax now (cuts down on cost, as the Garnier is cheaper).

My mom uses it as well.;) Good stuff.

Mona,

Is the Garnier just as good? I'd probably have to order Vonte online but if Garnier works, I'd rather use it.

My mom and I have been interested in Silk Effects ever since reading the reviews of Mo'nique, Golden Brooks, and Jill Marie Jones. I never bought it because it got bad reviews on the hair boards. Now I just may order it:)

It is blue and it looks like a pressing creme. He used a TINY bit on each section before flat ironing. A little goes a long way.

Yes and No....In this particular instance, the OP is utilizing it for flat ironing...I've never used in that regard, just for styling and laying down edges.

My edges are funny sometimes...sometimes the Vonte will work for me...sometimes it won't...then the Garnier wanted to act a lil funny on me, I whipped out my Vonte...and then it worked.

But the wax is definitely good if you want to try, would recommend.
Give it a try, see how you like it - it's like $2.89 or less for a jar.
