Is anyone still using this??

I used to swear by this stuff!! I have two large sized tubs of it at home but I hesitate to use it anymore because when I look at the ingredient list, I'm like

(Mineral Oil, Lanolin, Petroleum...)

I might use it every now and then; just a tiny bit smoothed over my hair for shine, but that's it!!

Is using products with these ingredients really bad for the hair?? I do notice that it definitely builds up on my hair if I use it every day...

I can't believe that I used it for soooo many years!! I'm talking like since I was a teenager!!

I used it back in the day. It didn't have any negative effect on my hair. Heck, if I had some today, I'd use it.

I dont think theres a thing wrong with it besides being heavy or building u on some heads. My Mom used to use ONLY this on her hair when she was relaxed, and her hair was gorgeous!

My cousin uses this on her little daughters hair. She always has a big jar of it. I figured it was good with softening natural hair or something like that.

Thanks ladies!!

I think I'm going to start using it again (but sparingly

) It seems a shame to have it sitting there... (and it wasn't cheap, either!! It cost me about $8 a tub!!), and I have to admit that it works sooo well for giving my hair instant shine!!

Is this a product for shine only or for moisture?

I'm not sure how good it is for moisturizing... I don't like to load up my hair with mineral oil (it weighs it down too much), so I will only be using it for shine.

I was in Walgreen's last weekend and there was quite a few tubes of this product on the clearance shelf. I didn't purchase it because I can't use heavy creams, pomades, oils, etc. on my hair. I've never seen or heard of it before then .

My grandmother, mother and aunt all used it for years and there hair was alwasy healthy. They did use it sparingly though, my grandmother would yell at me and say "you only need a tiny bit". it was used on my hair all through childhood. I think I will start going back to all the old products like vitapointe, ultra sheen and Revlon relaxers. Back then my hair was long and healthy. Now, let's just say I am glad that I found this site

I used to use it a long time ago and then I stopped when I realized it did nothing for me. Now I realize it's b/c it's a water-based product and I recently realized my hair doesn't like those.
