I know that some women on this forum do vinegar rinses to help bring their pH back to balance after relaxing before they use their neutralizing shampoo. My question is, do I really even need to use a neutralizing shampoo if I rinse my hair thoroughly after relaxing then follow up with a strong vinegar rinse. The way I figure a neutralizing shampoo has to be acidic in order to bring a your hair (which is made basic after relaxers) to a neutral/slightly acidic pH. But if I can get the same affect using vinegar I would rather bypass the whole shampooing process. TIA .
