Video: Before You Relax Your Natural Hair....WATCH THIS!

I don't know if you all remember, but about a year ago I had a meltdown over the frustration of my natural hair. (I wrote about it here on LHCF on a thread called "Naturals...Why Is My Hair Not Growing?, I also did a video about it on Youtube. I was SO mad!) It was such a hard time in my life. It was dry, brittle and not growing (or so I thought). I ran on over here and did a post asking why my hair wasn't growing and all that jazz. Now, I am loc'ing, but my hair is healthier and happier than ever, and I'm still natural. I created a video for those that are frustrated, confused, scared, or feel ashamed, not confident, not supported and alone. Hopefully this helps someone. I'm working on a series of videos to help naturals and transitioners on my Natural Hair YT channel, Naturally Scandalous.

Here's the video that I wish I had when I was on the verge of relaxing my hair. Before You Relax Your Natural Hair....WATCH THIS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofbUIczR9EY

OT, but girl, your entire FACE is on point! love your make-up and your presence. absolutely beautiful. :yep:

I liked your video a lot. You did a great job telling your story and I'm sure it will be an inspiration to many ladies.

Great video, and timely! You sounded like how I feel about my hair right now: on the VERGE of doing something I'll regret! :nono:

Girl when did you go and get so gorgeous??? I'm serious. You were pretty before, don't get me wrong. but something about you HAS CHANGED!!! You look absolutely beautiful in this video :yep:

Clap hands :-)

The video was great!! And your makeup is flawless :-)

This video is very inspirational because alot of times someone will see a natural head with "Great" hair and think that it was instanteneous(ms)..but that is often not the case. You have to switch products, develop new styling techniques and treat your hair "differently" once you are natural...that's just the way it is. I mean I LOVE two-strand twist now..that is my fro foundation. Once it gets longer; I will probably rock the afro puff on top for a bit..

Or they will see someone that is natural with alot of hair not but it took MONTHS of transitioning to get to that place. I am very happy with my "natcha" hair and I so glad that I made the switch. Right now my biggest complaint is the length--NO BANGS :-( but it is growing and it is so healthy. Plus there is nothing that I love more than THICK, BIG, NAPPY hair....and I can't acheive that with a relaxer(no matter how tight a roller set I got)...

Forget the hair your makeup is flawless... I love this look...lol no but I am a subcriber to your videos..thanks girl

I had to go through a mental transition before I was 100% sure I wanted to go natural. So glad I'm torturing myself with a long transition because if I had bced too early/short, I probably would have gone back to relaxers by now.

Subscribing to your videos....you are too pretty.

This is all very true. I really need to do vids on the transitioning process, what to expect in the first weeks/months as a natural, dealing with people who don't 'understand' natural hair, etc. I could go on for weeks........
