LADIES IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN WHAT IS GOING ON HERE. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A HAIR CARE FORUM NOT A RACE FORUM. IM A NEWBIE BUT IVE BEEN LURKING FOR A WHILE AN ALL YOU LADIES ARE USUALLY SO NICE TO EACH OTHER IN THREADS AN STUFF. ALL THIS RACE STUFF ISNT IMPORTANT. IF IT WAS THIS WOULDNT BE A BLACK HAIR CARE FORUM. I FEEL ITS GETTING RIDICULOUS AND OUT OF CONTROL NOW. HAIR IS HAIR. IF ITS DAMAGED OR DRY RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. I MEAN THERE ARE WHITE PEOPLE WITH DAMAGED AND DRY HAIR. BELIEVE ME IVE SEEN MANY! SO PLZ STOP THIS.

I take it you don't go to the off-topic forum.

Both of those threads started by intially talking about race and hair. Since different races seem to have different hair types, I don't see that race isn't important. The threads have evolved into something else, though.

If you noticed, those threads are for encouragement, to be helpful, or just a joke. So, what offends you about them?

yep thats what i mean people are getting offended by both the threads so if its offensive why carry on?

yes i see what you saying but you must understand that its not gonna be avoided... its just not... Because although race maybe not 100% percent play a role in hair care ... it does to a extent in my opinion.. Certain hair types require more care and time than others.. its a fact of life and its something you gotta accept.. Now i do agree that looser hair textures does not always mean you are mixed raced...but then again i do agree that sometimes it can. its a very hard topic to discuss but this si a forum.. it woulnt make sense to not ask questions like that just cause it might cause some hype... we are all mature adults we sure be able to handle it ...

I agree with what krissy said so eloquently. Just think you might have offended the people who started those threads who needed help and were genuinely trying to get help with this thread.

MCrzy i wasnt tryna offend the people who made them coz i kno they didnt mean harm im saying that both threads just seem to be getting out of hand thats all! i didnt even expect any replies to this thread i just wanted to say my views and if ive offended you i certainly did NOT want that to happen.

BS. All hair types require an equal amount of care. Oily/straight hair can never hold and style and it always smells, they also have mega flakes. I see type 1 hair that is so dammaged that it is not even funny. I cannot tell you how many white girls have what LITERALLY looks like two stick strands of hair on their head, because of the greasy-ness of their scalp. Curly hair never seems to act right and wavy hair can be confusing. Everyone has hair problems, regardless of texture or race.

It's obviously a hot topic because this is the 4th thread addressing the same issues. I really don't see a bunch of folks offended, but just adding their own views. And OP you are doing the same thing, expressing your views.

Where else could we discuss what's on our minds? I have read posts about people actually crying because they lost a few hairs. Puuulease. This is far more juicy. LOL

Everyone in here has the choice to NOT continue to read. Sometimes I happen upon threads that I don't care to entertain. I then exercise my right to raise up out of the forum.

I know you're new. But this board #1 threads are about race. Need some attention start a race thread. Want to have a HOT thread start a race thread. Want a thread with over 300 replies start a race thread. I wish they would die but they won't, they are here to stay you just might as well get use to it. Come visit us sometimes in Off Topics and Welcome.

I'll say this...no matter how good natured/innocent a thread starts out, b/c there are so many people here from different walks of life and perspectives SOMEONE is always going to find one or more threads objectionable that's just the way it is.

Also, although this forum was started originally as a hair care forum, it has grown to be more than that as you can see from the multiple boards on the homepage.
