Vent: Other people comments

Hey ladies,
I'm trying to see if I am the only one that feel this way..
I usually wear my hair up in some type of protective style b/c I am trying to get it to APL. However since the weather has been nice I decided to let my hair down, which is about 2" past my shoulders. Different people have commented you should wear your hair down more often! Why don't you wear you hair down? You look better with your hair down! I wanted to say so bad so it can look like yours--> uneven, dry, see through ends and damaged .. To be nice I just smile & keep it moving..

People always trying to give advice when their house is not in order....Now if it was then maybe I can see...Geesh... okay done venting

I don't know TLC1020...maybe they are genuinely complementing you and letting you know that you look nice with your hair down. I wouldn't take it for much more than that. Unless you feel that someone gave you a "back-handed" compliment, perhaps?

I don't think they meant to offend you in any type of way. A LOT of folks don't know about protective styles, and may not have seen that you were simply protecting your hair by keeping it up. They may have simply been complementing your on your hair and just wanted you to wear it out, because it looked nice.

I think they're just trying to complement you,to outsiders that don't know anything about protective hairstyles it must seem like you are just hiding all that long,pretty hair.
If they would have SL hair they of course would flaunt it.

Try not to pay them any mind and keep it moving.
I usually say something along the lines of my hair is to much work to wear it out all the time and usually I get a ... yeah you got long hair it seems like alot of work back(my hair is about the same length as yours ,2 inches below my shoulders)

I agree with kandi and spicedtee they sound like genuine compliments, they don't have idea about protective styles so take it as what it is a compliment your hair is pretty
