Hi,
Has anyone recently used thioglycolate to straighten their hair?

I remember using it years ago and getting a good result, also I'm thinking it may be better than hydroxide relaxers as it rearranges as opposed to breaking the disulfide bonds.

Thoughts?

My avi pic is of a curly perm & I have some more in my album. I really enjoyed the curly perm & it is scientifically true that the damage from the thio is less than a relaxer. However, damage is damage & I decided to become natural because I wanted the full thickness.

If I ever had to go back to chemicals, it would definitely be this one. Here is a link to stylist on YT that specializes in this method of straightening.
