Using Nexxus Emergencee

So, I'm a little new to the game, actually a lot new to the game. I've been reading so many good things about Nexxus Emergencee and decided to pick up and buy it yesterday. Only thing is I dont know how to use it . Ha ha. Can someone tell me their regimen pleaaaaaaaase. I want to do this this weekend.

When I use Emergencee I wash with a moisturizing shampoo, towel dry a bit and then apply the Emergencee starting with the ends and work my way up. I cover with a plastice cap and sit under the dryer for 10 mins. I rinse out the Emergencee, poo again with the same moisturizing poo. I apply a very moisturizing con to my hair and go back under the dryer for a minimum of 20 mins and rinse.

I ALWAYS clarify before using Emergencee...it works better IMO. After clarifying I put it on my hair and use a blowdryer (I dont own a hood dryer) until it has completely dried and my hair is hard.

I then rinse it really well and wash with a moisturizing poo like Nexuss Therapee or CON. Then I deep condition with moisturizing conditioner. I try to do this every 2 weeks to maintain my protein/moisture balance. My hair is thriving.

One lady suggested that you apply it after shampoo and go under the dryer without a plastic cap. stay under the dryer until it dries in your hair. then rinse and deep moisturize. I tried that and it really liked it. Most of the ladies who try this method prefers it over the conventional method.

see when I read the directions on the back of the product.. it said leave on for 2 minutes then rinse out.. so leaving it in longer and sitting under the dryer like some of u just posted is okay too? or are we talking about the same product? The nexxus emergencee that I saw was at Krogers..selling for $5.99 close out sale.. I didn't see the point in it working if u rinse it out only 2 min. later, but if u can use it longer like some just posted then I may have to try this product!!! ***contemplates running out to Krogers after work to purchase ***

I use Emergencee very rarely. I consider it a heavy protein and I've found my hair just doesn't need that much protein. I use Emergencee about twice a year now.

I clarify with Aloe Rid first, then apply the Emergencee and put on a plastic cap and a hot towel. I leave it on for about 15 minutes, then I rinse and shampoo with Therappe and then deep condition with Humectress mixed with some avocado oil and honey for about an hour. The results are beautiful, very strong and silky soft hair.

yeah it's the same product, but if you're seeing breakage or your hair is chemically treated then you need to do more than leave it in for 2 minutes...otherwise, its useless

Like Camelia said she considers it heavy protein, but she's natural. When I was natural all i had to do was leave it in for about 5 to 10 minutes and it was all good. For most relaxed heads, this is considered more of a medium strength protien treatment.

Now that I'm relaxed, my hair needs more structure so it works a hell of a lot better when used with heat....oh and DONT use a plastic cap if you use heat.

I usually use a clarifying poo first, then apply. I sit under the dyer for about 30 min. Then I wash it out with a moist. poo and apply a moist. conditioner and sit back under the dryer for about 45 min. to an hour.

I wash my hair, apply it, and let it harden on my hair like Aphogee. Sometimes I sit under the dryer and sometimes I don't. When it's completely dry and hard I rinse.

okay thanks for the tip!! I am relaxed.. so I will be sure to not use a plastic cap while under the dryer..I will just use this like my Aphogee(but I can't stand the smell of Aphogee)!!!!

I don't follow the back of the packaging directions. IMO that is only to give you the minimum benefits, causes you to use and buy the product more, which=more money for them.

With that being said, I clarify.

Add it to my strands.

Sit under the dryer (without a cap) for about 30 minutes-enough to let it dry hard.

Rinse, and deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner. I personally feel like washing it out is washing the protein right out the drain.

CVS usually carries it. You might wanna check Walgreens or other higher end drug stores. I dont see it too many places either.

Hmm...good point. I used Emergencee a week ago and thought about not washing it out. I'll try this next time I use it. You always come with good tips. THANKS!

you can also do a custom blend which someone on the board suggested. If you need protein but not too much, you can mix the Emergencee with some cholestrol so that you have moisture and portien. Then sit under the dryer or use a heat cap for 30 mins. I don't do this often since I am natural...only about every 4 months

i started a thread on the this very thing...i CANNOT find emergencee in the stores....every nexxus product except emergencee.
that said, i clarify, apply emergencee, keep it on for a while and rinse. then i follow up with a moisturizing conditioner.
