Using conditioner to make a leave-in

I need to get rid of some of my products and I have this aloe vera conditioner that I am thinking to use to make a leave in spray or moisturizing spray of some sort. For those of you that do this, how much conditioner do you use to water? I plan on using this conditioner, castor oil or coconut oil, and a few essential oils; maybe peppermint, lavender, and rosemary. I plan on using it on my new growth to help soften it and possibly on my ends for a baggy method.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. :)

Can't wait for some responses!! What Aloe Vera conditioner do you have? I have the Suave one.. I like that one alot.. but Milk N Honey is my fav of suave..

Hey RushGirl!

I have Aloe Vera conditioner by Mill Creem. I purchased it from my health foods store. It has pathenol, chamomile, and vitamin e too. It is also pH balanced so I figured let me use this stuff.

Hi Kaddy ,

I don't know if this will be of much help to you, but I just fill my bottle to about 3/4's full and I add conditioner to fill the rest of the way...I really don't use exact measurments. I was using M & H, but after awhile the mix would smell kind of old, but now I'm using VO5 peaches and cream and I'm loving the smell!!! HTH

Thanks a lot. I am not a real measurer either, so your directions are great for me. I wasn't sure how much conditioner to water I should be using.

Thanks again.

I mix about 4 to 5 quarter sized amounts of Kera Care Humecto with 20 to 30 drops of Kera Care Essential Oils. I sometimes add 10 to 15 drops of Aura Cacia Sweet Almond Oil. I don't measure the amount of water, but I only add enough to make the mixture easier to spray through my spray bottle. I'd say that I add about 3 or 4 tablespoons of water but this is an estimation. :)

By the way, I only use this mixture immediately after washing my hair while it's still damp . It softens and moisturizes my hair very well while it's air drying.

Like 3.99. It was real cheap. They have a bunch of great products like biotin shampoo and conditioner, jojoba shampoo and conditioner, etc. I purchased the aloe vera shampoo and conditioner for my husband for his locs, but he really only used the shampoo, so I have this big thing of conditioner left. This is theri website (just to give you an idea of what they have). http://www.millcreekbotanicals.com/products/hair.html

I purchased mine from my natural foods store though.

Their Biotin shampoo made my hair hard & it was about $7. But I'll have to check out some of the other products.

KAddy...I am currently in PJ Rehab....so...I am mixing a little of this and a lot of that and some of this....If it gets too thick, and I want a spray, I add distilled water, if not, I just pour it in my hand and smooth it over my hair or on my ends......The only problem that I ran into was that I got a really good mixture of something and for the life of me...I didn't know what I had mixed together . Trial and error!!!!!

That is too funny  I made a point to pay attention. However, the amounts that I put in of coconut oil and castor oil were sooooo NOT measured. So I doubt I will be able to make it the EXACT same way again.

In a spray bottle, I boil water and a tea bag (preferably chamoile or mint). Let it cool. Pour mixture into spray bottle, add 2 tablespoons of conditioner (I prefer Suave Milk & Honey or Coconut), and a few drops of peppermint oil (about 2 or 3). I put this on my day and night. The best concotion for my hair that I've ever used. :)
