Hey guys, I'm about to wash my hair, and I wanted to apply a clear glaze to brighten up my wine rinse which has now started to fade drastically (had it done in Nov and I STILL have color coming out of my hair when I wash... My stylist said it was supposed to come out in 6 washes... Well I've washed my hair at least 35 times since then, :look::ohwell:) In any case, I wanted to use this product and it says that there's PEROXIDE IN IT! Which of course can be drying for the hair. It also comes with this conditioner you're supposed to use every week for 6 weeks (supposed to last for 6 weeks - the glaze), and you can substitute your conditioner for the one they provide once a week. It says you can use this product with relaxed hair.

Do you think this is going to damage my hair, or if I continue with my regimen and do my 2x-3x a week washes that always include a DC i should be fine? I figure I've already done ok with maintaining my relaxed hair with a rinse, so maybe this will be fine, but the peroxide kinda freaks me out...

Advice please! I'm trying to get this started before American Idol comes on!:drunk::yep::ohwell:

Any reason you'd like to use this particular product? It reminds me of Luminize - unnecessary chemicals to do something simple. How about a clear cellophone rinse, or Jazzing, or one of the many semi-perm rinses sold in BSSs.

It unfortunately was the only one they had at the store nearest me. I'm not crazy about Jazzing actually, I used one of their products a long while ago and it was terribly drying to my hair... :nono::sad:

This looked pretty cool, until I fully read the ingredients and the panel inside.

ETA: there are THREE bottles in this thing. One is labeled the "gentle activator" which has the peroxide... The second bottle is the shine treatment which you're supposed to mix with the other.... Ugh this is super annoying, lol.

Ok forget it, I'm returning this -ish back to the store! lol I'm not taking ANY chances with peroxide. Temporary shine is NOT worth the overall health of my hair.
:yep:

Well perioxide developer is used in hair color products. Its probably only 10 volume which is used with alot of semi perm. products since 10 volume helps deposit the color. I have used it before and it was fine.

hello, I am kind of new here but just wanted to let you know I used something similar. Herbal Essence Clear Shine product and I didn't really notice any difference in my hair. I didn't suffer any hair damage but I just didn't get the shine I was hoping for. HTH
