What happens if you use hemp seed oil or wheat germ oil that hasn't been refrigerated? Is it just less potent, not potent at all, dangerous?

Well, it goes bad! Meaning that the nutrients that you expect to receive from it are no longer availlable. Just like any other organic product, left to it's own devices it'll eventally degrade - all that will be left are free radicals, which we all know is useless waste and toxic to the body.

It goes rancid and all the good nutrients you paid money for are gone, now did you use one straight after opening it without refrigerating because that would still be fine. Anything else and nope

Oh damn

I didn't realise i was supposed to put all my oils in the fridge.

So even my Hot Six Oil should go in there too?

I think it depends if its been manufactured to be topical or internal. When I bought my wheat germ oil from the vitamin shop he asked if I wanted it for internal or topical purpose. I let him know it was topical. I just also checked my bottle from Aromaforce it doesn't mention to place in the fridge. I would say if it didn't state put in the fridge after opening and you didn't it spoiled. If not it should be okay. Mine expires April 2011 and still stinks as the first day I opened it.

^^^ My WGO doesn't mention the fridge either. I got it from the health food store. The only indicator of expiration is to use before Dec of 2011

I bought my Hemp Oil in the refrigerated section of Whole Foods so I keep it in the fridge. I bought the Wheat Germ Oil at the Vitamin Shoppe off the shelf but it says on the wrapper the natural contents can separate when chilled. But does not have directions to place in refrigerator after opening. Confusing!

It is recommended that wheat germ oil be refrigerated because it does not have a long shelf life. If it is refrigerated, you need to shake it before using.
None of my research said that anything horrible will happen if it is not refrigerated other than it going rancid quicker than if it was refrigerated.

I got my WGO from the Vitamin Shoppe too it was on the shelf not refrigerated the hemp oil I saw there was in a refrigerated case though and the guy in the store said to keep it refrigerated. I didnt even think to ask about the WGO and it doesnt specify to refrigerate on the bottle Its Viobin brand. Should I put it in the fridge ladies?

I got my Wheat Germ Oil from Vitamin Shoppe but it did say it had to be refrigerated, I had to look for it as it was in small print in an inconspicuous spot on the bottle but since I knew it was supposed to I searched and voila.

I just looked at my bottle and no where on there does it say it has to be refigerated. Says if chilled it will seperate so shake before use.

I got mine from vitamin shoppe as well.

I think you should put it in the fridge so it does not go rancid to fast. I placed mine in the fridge . If your home is not extremely hot it should still be ok.
