Okay last night I finally was able to do my hair with my homemade stuff.

I clarified with dr bronner peppermint and lavender soap. Then I DC'ed with Conditioner I made. It had a whole mess of ingredients. Im embarrassed to list all of them. I call myself being smart putting some keratin in it. Probably unnecessary. :nono: Then I got over excited and did the coconut cream/ yogurt thing AND irish moss. It was fun and smushy putting it on my hair. Any way I was too tired to braid my hair up afterwards. I woke up and my hair was the coiliest it's ever been super shiny, and HARD. MAybe I over did the protein? Was It the Keratin? I like the shine but I don't like this shrinkage ( It's at shoulder length right now. )

I'm gonna use my butter and hopefully it will make things softer elongate curls.
Okay thats my hair experience for today.

Yeah, the butter will help. Spray or wet it first though. I think you overdid it with the keratin, yogurt and irish moss. Irish moss has protein qualities too. Just take out the protein items and keep ONE. Our hair needs more moisture, not so much protein...especially if it reacted that way. Remember hard and brittle, too much protein, mushyness, too much moisture.

ETA~ Oh yeah, and the coconut cream. All of the items (except keratin)have light protein but all together...WATCH OUT NOW!

Oh yeah, are you diluting the castile soap? Some people have used it straight from the bottle and complained of brittle dryness. That stuff is concentrated and needs to be diluted 1 part soap to 4 parts water...

Oh yeah I diluted the soap that peppermint would be super harsh with out it. DoH I forgot about the irish moss and coconut cream having protein. I was so desperate to stop this breakage I over did it with all those. Anyways butter and vaseline helped. No more hard hair.
