I'm trying to find one for my sister but don't know what is the best one to buy. Can you help me please. I would have ordered the Maxiglide from the States but thought it might blow up even if its used with an adapter.

I have a ghd have had it a few years now and love it...dont use it often but the results are great and it doesnt burn your hair or dry it out
love it

I have one of the babyliss ones from argos. It doesn't hvae a temperature control - I wasn't looking to spend that much - but it never gets too, too hot and it doesn't do my fine hair any damage and still get's it perfectly straight. I think babyliss is called conair in america, i bought one of those when I went there and that worked good, so if you see any reviews about them u know they're talking babyliss. You dont need to shell out more than about £50 for a very good pair, mine was like £25. Stay away from them remington ones tho, I saw my friend's one smoking the other day!

I've heard about the conair on american sites. What about the CHI, can that be bought in the UK?

GHD imo are over priced especially as they are ceramic plated and not solid ceramic irons.

I dont' know if they now do solid ceramic irons, but for £99 rrp they can keep it, the £20 one gets the job done.

I hate GHD's, however the babyliss glass is good, i use it on my friends hair

SNAP TO EVERYTHING U JUST SAID!

ghd will mash up your hair, throw it out!!!!!!

i wouldn't even use that thing once every 2 years. Its just way too damaging for black hair.

the glass one i have, its great, smoother then anything as it ACTUALLY HAS A HEAT DIAL which = more control over your hair

I used to have a BaByLiss one waaaay back in 1998 and i liked it but got rid of it as soon as i got my hair done with a ghd, i got them before the hype and before they were "famous" lol and wouldnt swap it for anything in the world lol
maybe go to a salon and see what they use, have your hair done and then compare to some others. Iguess it depends on what kind of hair you have, my friend has 4a/4b hair and the remington wet to staright works amazing on her hair but my hair doesnt like it
good luck with your hunting
