When my hair is wet...I would call it 3c. It looks like it can go around a pencil..but when it dries, it squeezes up on itself so much, Anita Hill at the Toronto Hair show kept referring to it as comb coils when in reality it was just a wash n go. It's very confusing, because while I am in the shower and I see those completely natural shed hairs on the wall/my fingers/the comb, they range from pencil size to thin marker size. Even when they dry on their own as a shed hair, they stay pretty big sometimes (sometimes!). But while its on my head, it turns into comb coils. For this reason, I call myself 4a/3c. How does this phenomenon factor into the typing process? I think we really need to make our own system, or even more just throw out this whole typing thing, because in reality, it will be impossible to categorize eeeeveryone, because certainly once you've made the chart, someone is going to pop up out of Timbucktoo with some next ish. I think actually the LOIS system can gwan because its so broad, it pretty much fits everyone unless you have some weird 8 shaped hair which I can imagine is possible if your hair curls back on itself sometimes.
