Phytospecific Type 2

2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin?

My hair is fine, but dense.

3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and what have you been using to thicken up those strands.

It is getting thicker. I have been using MT and whatever moisturizer I use I seal with JBCO.
4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch?

I'm attempting a 22 week stretch; I am into week 9.

5. What's your current length and goal?

I guess I'm CBL; I don't have a goal - I'll just do this until I get bored with it!

6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands?

Most recently I've been using Redken Real Control Crema Care. It's awesome.

If you'd like to add any more information that would be appreciated. I'm just trying to find out what my hair responds to and if there are any ladies on here like me.

1. I use Mizani or Motions - usually super
2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin? HEKK NO - happy nappy thick
3. I haven't noticed a lot of thickening until I started doing more CO washing (at the suggestion of the ladies!)
4. I relax every 8 weeks. I'm going to stretch to 10 weeks, but long stretch doesn't work for me
5. My current length is SL aiming for APL
6. I use Gold AMLA Oil, Coconut Oil, and too many moisturizers to name!

1. Relaxed heads, what relaxer and strength do you use for your hair.
ORS Regular strength. I put 1/4 cup of olive oil to slow the processing time because I do it myself.
2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin?
No. Corse
3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and what have you been using to thicken up those strands.
I don't think my hair has thicken at all. I think it is all growing one length and this makes it look thicker.
4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch?
Min 8 weeks. I usually end up stretching any where from 16-24 weeks. Take a look at the relaxer dates below. I think Dec to May was my longest strech. I was able to do this by using Miss Key 10 en1 conditioner. If I can the next time I relax will be Dec.
5. What's your current length and goal?
Currently APL. I just posted my update pics. I don't really have a new goal length. I plan to stay at APL and grow all one length healthy hair.
6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands?
Boner Brothers

If you'd like to add any more information that would be appreciated. I'm just trying to find out what my hair responds to and if there are any ladies on here like me.

Miss Key 10 en 1 is the bomb. I apply it like a relaxer. Most of the time I use heat if not I keep it in for 45mins- 1hour. I just had a baby so last update was the first time I did not use heat. I haven't noticed a difference.

Thank you ladies....Bumping for more replies. I'm hoping to get lots of reponses from the fine haired relaxed ladies

1. Relaxed heads, what relaxer and strength do you use for your hair.
Mizani Butter Blends Lye (regular)
2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin? Yes
3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and what have you been using to thicken up those strands. I believe it has a little. The best thing I ever did was to go natural for about 3 years. I learned so much about my natural hair and did research before texlaxing this time around.
4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch? I get my touch up approx. every 3 months. I've stretched as long as 4 months but I experience breakage so I won't try it again until I have more length.
5. What's your current length and goal? Current length is approx. 1 inch from APL and my goal is WL.
6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands? Giovanni Direct, lacio lacio, Mane & Tail original, alma/vatika/coconut oil, Rusk Smoother
If you'd like to add any more information that would be appreciated. I recently used the Mizani Therma Smooth collection (thanks dontspeakdefeat) and this is a definite keeper!!I'm just trying to find out what my hair responds to and if there are any ladies on here like me.

1. Relaxed heads, what relaxer and strength do you use for your hair? I use Affirm, regular strength.

2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin? I have naturally thick hair.

3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and what have you been using to thicken up those strands? My hair is the same (I've used WGO for faster hair growth in the past; but it also enchances thickness).

4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch? I get a touch-up every 6 weeks. (I stretched once to 8 weeks, and I had extreme breakage. Even my stylist told me I waited too long to relax. I realize that it was because I had my summer growth spurt. Next time, I will try to stretch in the winter, since I have slower growth then).

5. What's your current length and goal? I was APL, just cut yesterday to SL due to heat damage (from months ago) thinning my hair out.

6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands? JC's Nourish & Shine; and with protein overload I have to use Hairveda's Vatika Frosting!

My responses are in red.

4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch? Every 3 to 4 months /12 to 16 weeks
5. What's your current length and goal? CBL / Goal is APL
6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands? A homemade Shea Butter/ Avocodo Oil mix
If you'd like to add any more information that would be appreciated. I'm just trying to find out what my hair responds to and if there are any ladies on here like me.

If your hair is fine and thin I would texturize or texlax rather than go bone straight when you do relaxers. Good luck to you

1. Relaxed heads, what relaxer and strength do you use for your hair.

I use Affirm Reg

2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin?

It is naturally fine and thin

3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and
what have you been using to thicken up those strands.

My hair has thickened a little bit since my journey- nothing dramatic or anything. I am trying to grow my hair to one even length to give more of an illusion of thickness.

4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch?

I relax every 8 weeks. I will be stretching to 10 weeks the next relaxer.

5. What's your current length and goal?

I am NL approaching SL- My goal is not so much length but healthy hair. If I can get to a full SL of healthy hair that would be great.

6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands?
I use a concoction of the yellow profective cream+break free creme+a dab of carefree curl gold some days, others I alternate with kukui nut body cream.

I have found that my hair thrives with moisture. Washing a few times a week has been great for my hair which used to be dry.

Relaxer: Affirm Fiberguard

I have naturally nappy strands no fineness here!!

Jamaican Black Castor Oil helped thicken my hair

I relax every 12 weeks

My current and forever goal is waist length

The moisturizers I like are lacio lacio, profectiv mega growth, ntm, ors olive oil cream. I co wash alot, and any ole leave in and some coconut, amla, jbco, or red palm oil does wonders...I also protective style my hair 90% of the time... Yay good day hair pins!!!

Silk Elements

2. Is your hair naturally fine and thin?

yes

3. Has your hair thickened since the start of your hair journey and what have you been using to thicken up those strands.

Yes it has...but just in the last couple of months. Eating for hair growth & also using Ayurvedic methods

4. How often do you relax/How long do you stretch?

no more than 3 times a year. I hope to reduce it down to 2 times a year.

5. What's your current length and goal?

Right now neck length. My goal is to be even Shoulder Length. Never had it so def wondering if possible.

6. What moisturizers you find work best for your fine stands?

Glycerin & butters do really well for my hair. Water based products tend to at first weigh my hair down then dry it out.

If you'd like to add any more information that would be appreciated. I'm just trying to find out what my hair responds to and if there are any ladies on here like me.

I just switched to Silk Elements...was using Optimum no lye. But Silk E has did a great job. Eventually I would like to go natural...maybe

I really appreciate your responses ladies, I'm gonna switch my relaxer to Mizani butter blends mild strength since my hair is so fine. I realise also that the fine haired ladies that have reponded don't stretch for too long.

I know my hair can thicken up if i just be patient with it.
More replies are welcome please!
