Does anyone who wears twist have issues with there hair coming out during and after putting them in and taking them out?
It seems as though I have alot of hair coming out?
is it just because I wait until the next washing?

This happens to me. I think its just that I keep my twists in for a week and there is no where else for the hair to go till I take them out. On the other hand, I do think I have a shedding problem too b/c I don't rem my hair ever shedding as much as it does now

I used to have a lot come out. But then I increased my moisturizing a lot and started taking my twist down from tip to root. I still get shedsing, but not as much.

I think it's the unshed hair.

Two-strand twists are a popular method for starting locks. Locks form and bulk up once the shed hair becomes embedded with the "live" hair. When locks are removed, you're basically releasing the shed hair.

As long as you're gently removing and twisting, don't worry about the hair you're seeing. If you notice any thinning, then you know to look for another factor.

I had the same problem.....what I started doing was deep conditioning first....

After taking down my twists, I would sit around and watch tv or talk on the phone and smooth the conditioner through the strands gently working out any tangles or twists...usually about 45 minutes to an hour - kinda like playing in my hair just massaging my hair "straight" - uncoiling the twisted pieces - then I would sit under the dryer for 30 minutes...

This made all the difference....twists and twist-outs make your hair tangle alot....so the key is to remove as many tangles and kinks as possible by hand before you try to detangle your hair...also BEFORE shampooing because otherwise the agitation just makes the tangles worse....even when in sections...

After using a rinse out conditioner....I saturate my hair with leave-in and detangle with a comb followed by my denman...

I hope this makes sense...This method caused my hair loss to decrease by 50% on wash day - I was soooo happy  I wasnt convinced it was all shed hair and I am glad that I found a method that worked...
