How many twist do you put in your hair to get a really good twistout?

I read anywhere from 10 to 20 is average for a good twist out.

If I do flat twists then 8 will suffice, If I do standard two strand twists then I need roughly twice that many. The looks for each are totally different so I typically alternate based on how much time I have for air drying ( two strands dry faster than the flat twists for me). HTH

It depends on how long I want it to last. I'm natural, SL so I don't get much definition with just a few twists. I can probably do a chunky twist out with 20 twists. I would have to retwists that one at night. But if I want a nice one I will need at least 30 to 35. And that will last two days without retwisting. And if I make them smaller I can get a week out of them.
