i decided that i would wear a twist out today, but i was wondering should i wear something on my head in the shower, to avoid shrinkage? or would the shower be good for fluffing it back out?

i hope someone responds soon, because i got to hop in the shower. i wasn't even going to wear my hair like this!

If I'm wearing twists and want to do a twistout, I always cover my hair with a scarf and showercap to prevent my hair from get wet which will cause shrinkage.

I keep hair in twists and uncover. The steam from shower fluffs up twists which eliminates need to spritz at all afterwards. Yes, you will have to be a little careful that back of hair especially doesn't get wet, but that's it. This method works best for me.

Cover your hair. If you the moisture is going to make you lose definition. Now I must admit, I do this quite often, but if you are going for the more defined twistout look then you want to avoid doing this...

thanks ladies! i had a big fro this morning, but i wasn't ready to rock it yet, so i just decided to do a wash and go. i put my hair in 25 large twists yesterday. this morning when i starting taking them down, my hair as so fluffy, coily, and big! i didn't realize that my hair was long enough to have a nice size fro. but i am going to try the twistout again. i was shocked how my hair stretched out looked like! i was loving it!

i wanted to take pictures, but my usb cord is shot and my camera phone takes wack pics. i was trying to wait for my husband to wake up so i could use his camera phone.

I feel if you mist your hair anyway when styling, no shower cap is best. Not wearing a shower cap doesn't affect my definition at all and actually stretches my hair a little. By the time I take them down, any moisture is gone. But then again, I pick my hair out and don't just untwist and wear. So I think whether or not you wear a shower cap or not depends on the style you're trying to achieve.
