Ok,
I woke up this morning excited to do my twists. I was actually planning on doing them well enough to wear for a bit then do the twist out. I had my friend help me and we used IC Fantasia gel and a spritz made of Vitamin E, almond oil, and deionized water. I also did a deep conditioner with my poo just to protect against anything that may happen. We couldnt get the roots to stay and some started to unravel. So we gave up and let it dry and it doesn't look horrible, it just could look better. I think if the roots were done right, the whole look would work out. That's my second failed attempt at a transitioning hairstyle in 2 weeks. (last week was the flexirod, but I think I did them too small).
There are pictures in my album. By Tuesday I'll be on to something else.

Just venting. Nothing too serious.
If you see anything wrong that I could have done let me know.

The only thing I think you needed to do was separate each twist section after you untwisted them. It would have given your hair more volume and camouflaged the new growth area. Not bad for a first attempt!

Did you just twist from the root straight down? What I would do is start off with a braid so that hair at the root is tight and then start twisting, This is what I do and it has never failed me. If I only twist the hair at my root it ends up really bushy.

Oh...never thought of that. I think I may try that on the next go round. I'll get these right, yet.
BTW- your hair is pretty. I especially love your braid outs and flat twists!

I usually do mine to the scalp!!! and yeah I think bigger ones will give you more definition!! But they look good!!
To the scalp. What does that mean? We started twisting tightly from the scalp. Is it in your album?

Thank you!

I think Sweetpea meant doing flat twists and not twists that hang down. I think your twist out came out good for the frst time. I also second the suggestion about separating each section more than once to give your hair some volume. As far as wearing twists out of the house, for me, i've decided to leave that until im all natural. I find that the natural part of my hair looks a lot fuller while the relaxed section looks limp. I would also do bigger twists next time.

Oh and I really like your flexi rod set as well, I don't think you failed at that either.

Not bad for a first attempt. May I suggest making the twist bigger and maybe securing them on the ends with a perm rod. Looks cute though!

Thanks...it had the Motions setting lotion in it and it was too tightly curled. I would have preferred it to be a little looser.
