Trimming Hair After A Perm

Is it okay to trim hair (to reduce split ends and breakage) right after a perm?

I don't see what the problem would be. So many people do this and post pics. I always got my cut after my perm.

Why do you ask? What concern do you have? (I might be missing something.)

It's actually recommended to trim your hair after a relaxer because of the wear and tear that can occur doing the waiting period between touch-ups.

If you go often to relax (not always adviced) but you're ends seem relatively okay in condition and want to hold on to as much length as possible, you have the option of trimming only 1/4 of an inch or 1/8 of an inch.

i always trim/dust or cut after a touchup.

Same, there's just no question about it. If I don't get rid of the majority of split or tattered ends just for length, there might not BE extra length by the time I'm ready for the next touch-up. Why risk it? :)
