I spend quite a bit of time learning from all you knowledgeable and wise ladies here on the forum. Well, tonight, while reading, I was touching my abundant, 6-week-old NG that felt a little dry after my overnight henna/avocado/coconut milk treatment. I instinctively made an emulsion of amla oil, coconut oil, castor oil and water, and sprayed my hair and roots, smoothed it back into a bun, and smiled.

It's only been 4 short months that I've been a member here. I lurked a few weeks, then became an avid student.....I know I have a LOT more to learn, too! But it's because of what I've learned here that my hair is thriving. Just 5 months ago, I wouldn't have dreamt of putting henna in my hair, let alone think of stretching my relaxer to 12 weeks. I know how to use silk amino acids and oil rinsing, henna and coconut milk and castor oil and ayuervedic remedies! What aspects of your regimen can YOU attribute to LCHF?

ETA: And now, on Saturday, I'm sitting here with a Caramel Treatment on! Yaaaayyyy!!!!

I have learned everything, I was a real hair dummy, but I have wanted long, healthly hair all my life and when I stumbled upon LHCF it has really made a major difference in my hair as well as my family, I went from shoulder length to APL and I have learned about oil rinsing, baggying, a plethora of good products, warnings on bad products, I love the fact that women can come together and be so helpful not to mention this is where I first heard of Cathy Howse and I like her methods also. I just love LHFC and I will continue to be a member here for years to come. :grouphug:I love yall and thank you so much.

Ditto with you ladies.

This site or all of you have eased my worries, pain, agony and frustration as well as shared in my joyous moments more than any other board I am a member of and that is the truth.

I am able to come on this board and share my thoughts that could be viewed good, bad or indifferent and still loving arms support me no matter what. You have opened my mind to things I know I would not have learned or been exposed to from anywhere else. I don't mean just the hair threads either. :look:

I have learned from some of you and have taught some of you which is the way it should be.

Thank you.

Thanks for your replies! I just wanted to give a shout out to the source of knowledge/wisdom that will enable me to finally have the long, beautiful hair that I always wanted!

I learned all about Ayurvedic products and processes from the ladies of this site. Ms Cocoface, and OSMANE really broke it down for me ( Candy C and Sareca too). I'm also using the herbs to also help my skin which has broken out because of oil.:look: Lottahair shared with me about Cassia-( Greta long term benefits- of increased moisture retention and sheen.
I learned about SAA from Sareca and oil rinses
I didn't know nothing about MN cream( which Im still experimenting on from iae6 she broke it down!!! and gave recipies!!!)
Never even considered rollersetting my own hair till LynnieB took me by the hand. ( I still am not good at it but I got alot of encouragement)
And a host of ladies who answered my PMs about their product reviews. I could go on forever. I have been a member of this board I think since 2005. I just lurked and added a comment here or there- But the nonjudgmental sence of community was the clincher
I Love this BOARD!

There isnt a day going by where I dont pass by here to get my LHCF fix. I have learned a great deal from everyone and all the misconceptions I had about black folk hair! Good Lord my eyes are open now...and the fact that we are all each other's guinea pigs helps a lot rather waiting for some big giant corp to tell me that coconut milk will do that and amla or henna will do this...I know that the ladies on this forum got my back and I got yours....My hair had never gone pass my shoulders but since finding this place I am now looking at APL(although in braids:lachen:)...but without the knowledge you guys share I would probably still be thinking that "oh please black peoples hair doesnt grow that long..." So a BIG thank you to everyone for the info you have shared, are sharing and the info you will share with me tomorrow!:yep:

I have to say that I have always been a hair fanatic, but had lost touch with my hair and was abusing/ neglecting it. You ladies have gotten my back on track. It's not so much what I have learned, but I now have proof that methodology, not genetics determines how long ones' hair can grow. I have learned to love my hair again. It's length, texture, and thickness.
You ladies reminded me that DCing, protein, and frequent co-washing isn't too much work, but is showing my hair LOVE. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
I could go on but I am getting ready to wash my hair now:grin:

I will be a member as long as I own a computer. I learned so many things I can't even put it all down and I finally have some hair and I know what to do with it. I knew somethings but didn't believe people actually did it. I went to school for cosmetology - didn't learn any of this stuff in that class, but I was able to put my own perms in and in others. On LHCF I learned how to build my hairs strength up and all about oil pulling and cleansing the body and just so much. I learned about saving money. I am saving more money then I ever imagined I would ever do. I can see my dreams coming true. I love that othes post their results when using products. I knew about the Indian products for over a year but no way was I going to ever do it until now. I decided to go for it and it works it does make your hair stronger and cleaner and softer and healthier I rather wash my hair with the oils then shampoo any day.

Thank you so much for sharing, ladies! It's wonderful knowing that I wasn't the only one who feels so much gratitude for finding this forum. None of my searches turned up LCHF until I asked just the right questions! I guess I just wasn't ready, LOL!

I agree with all of you. LHCF has been my saving grace. I really don't know what would have become of my hair (and hairline) if I hadn't found this board. I've gone from SL to BSL in 15 months, learned to pre poo, not to manipulate my hair so much, co wash, wash regularly, DC with heat and do protein treatments. I didn't do any of this before I came here. I went for a retouch this week and for the first time in years, ladies at the salon were commenting on how thick and long my hair is. I owe all that to the tips and techniques I learned here. What I really liked about being here is that that it doesn't take long at all to see results once you start doing all the right things consistently.
