I have type 4B hair. Throughout my transition, I've had success with flat ironing.

These are the things that worked best for me.

Chi Silk Infusion (heat protectant) Use this when blow drying. It Can also be re applied when flat ironing.

Do not be afraid to use the comb attachment when you blow dry just make sure that you detangle first with a wide tooth comb and blow it out in small sections.

The chi also works well for flat ironing but I found that Dudley Cream PRess works very well for getting ice smooth results.

Look in my fotki album, I have some examples oof my results in there.
Or PM me if you have more questions.

If the Chi is too pricey for you, then this is also good.
