I am currently transtitioning and I have run into a very serious problem. I have lost my 'slickness' when I condition my hair. I am using kerakare humectant, affirm 5 in1 etc with no improvment. I am going to try a clarifying shampoo tomorrow to see if maybe i have too buildup. These are really good conditioners and I have had no problems with them when I was completely relaxed but now I think I need to move on to different conditioners or clarify.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so what helped?
TIA

you might need a thicker conditioner..my rec would be the pantene pro-v hydrating curls conditioner. You should use this conditioner to detangle, then rinse out.

"Slip" is a little different for natural hair vs. relaxed hair. I learned this early on in my transition. Once you get used to how your hair should feel with good conditioner then you'll realize that it does have some slickness to it...well, that's my thought anyway!

After my hair became underprocessed I had the same problem. I was using Nexxus and it just was not working. I thought for a long time that something was wrong will my hair. But, just the other day I bought a little pack of propensity(sp) control. WoW! I could actual get a comb thru my wet hair, something I have not been able to do in a long time. That stuff is great and now thta I am transitioning I really need this stuff. You shoud try it. It works wonders.
