Hello, I recently transitioned to natural hair and Im having a problem with growth. Also I dont know what to do with my hair as far as styling. I need HELP with styling suggestions. My goal is to have my hair long, beautiful and strong.

My regimen is to wash my hair once a week with Eufora Pure Cleanse Shampoo and Urgent Repair Replenshing Conditioner. On Wednesday I use conditioner only. Daily I wet my hair and use Carols Daugther "Lisas Hair Elixir, which is a oil that makes my hair feel incredibly soft.

I dont know for sure that Im not retaining growth but it seems to be in the same postion for the last several months.

Right now my hair is about 4 inches in the front and 2.5 on the sides/top and 1.5 in the back.

I dont know what hair type I have but in the ftont its fairly straight and in the top/back its tighted curled.

Please start taking progress pictures regularly so you can document any changes. Retention issues should be obvious. Do you see broken hairs? Are you shedding a lot? Your hair IS growing, even if it's not apparent to you. Give us some more details (pictures would be nice!) and we'll try to help!

Are you ussing growth Aid , wearing any PST , are sleeping with your hair cover, and last we need a picture to see and a little more detail. I am slow grower, I take picture of my hair monthly , and i am seeing my growth in the picture. I learned it not going to happen over night . take care good luck.

Your hair is growing alright...Only dead people's hair doesn't grow!
But you definitely want to leave your length checks to every 2 or more months so you can see growth. Also now that you're natural, its more difficult to see the growth since our hair grows in coiled...especially type 3's and 4's.

For hair styling go with twists, bantu knots and braids....You can take all of these down after a day or so, and wear the style fluffed out and accessorized with hair candy. You should be able to find some threads with natural styles....You may want to find a friend with styling skills or visit a salon that specializes in natural hair styles and care who can create some beautiful natural styles for you that you can wear for a couple of weeks at a time. Also learn how to do your own styles by searching YT videos for "how-to" videos like twisting and/or braiding......

You are early in the natural game so give your self time and just be a sponge and learn learn learn, observe others....

Avoid wash n go's as much as possible...try not to wear them more than a day or two because they can cause breakage.....leave your hair in protective styles as much as possible....

If you are transitioning, perhaps the shrinkage is making it appear your hair is not retaining growth. Hair grows .5" per month on the average.

It probably doesn't seem like your hair growing because you're paying too much attention to it. Leave it alone and let it be. Get your hair braided or find a protective style that doesn't have you touching your hair everyday. do this and one day you will be looking in the mirror and you'll be surprised at the length you can gain
