ok I have accumulated a pretty good amount of mostly shampoos and conditioners that didn't do diddly squat for my hair....But I want to use it all up since I'm kinda broke and now that I have a better idea of what my hair needs.
So, I was thinking I would add stuff to make em work.
This is the plan......

1. Generic Head and Shoulders shampoo-(I didnt buy it..my friend left it here)
Suave Sleek Shampoo- these both made hair dry and tangled.

I need to add something that will make it moisturizing and detangle (maybe glycerin, shea butter, AVC)????

2. Suave Humectant Conditioner- wasn't tooo bad, but I need to kick it up a few notches

Maybe add Black Strap Mollasses or Honey to add to its moisture drawing effect???

What do you ladies think? Do you have products that you'd like to doctor up as well? Any suggestions?

I add liquid aloe vera to mine(shampoo and conditioner) and maybe a drop or two of a good eo like apricot kernel oil, wheatgerm oil or sweet almond oil.

I haven't tried adding glycerin to shampoo or conditioner but i do have a spritz that i use made up of glycerin, water, jamaica black castor oil and a little of my growth mix of rosemary oil, sweet almond oil and wheatgerm oil.

my conditioner gumbo is making my hair hard. I think that there is some protein in there somewhere, so I am either going to pop an old jar of hair grease in the microwave and liquify it and add it or, I will go to the dollar store and buy some olive oil and throw it in. I am also going to get some more of my products from home to add to it.

Thanks Carameldiva. I'm definately gonna try adding aloe vera and whatever carrier oil I can find around here. Karezone, even adding some distilled water to it might help some. Let us know what happens......

@ Caremeldiva, I have been using that liquid aloe vera ever since you mentioned it and it is very good. My hair is now so moisturized. I add that to my conditioners and I always add oil, usually olive oil, to them to make them deep conditioners. If I really want to kick it up, I add those two and honey and coconut milk.

@Karezone, I dont recommend buying grease and putting it into a conditioner. That would be counterproductive, becuase you are basically just adding petroleum and mineral oil to the product. You might as well add baby oil and vaseline and save a trip to the dollar store. If the protein in it is making your hair hard, add more olive oil and, if you have some on hand, you could add honey. Hands down if I had to decide between grease and olive oil for anything (daily use, conditioner) I would use the olive oil.
