What does everyone use as a protective cream to prevent overlapping when doing a touch-up? I'm new to this. What is a filler? The instructions for Ampro-gel says that you can apply there gel on your hair before relaxing as a filler.

I saturate my "old" hair with Motions Oil Moisturizer before doing my own touch-up. Don't know if this is an "approved" usage but it works like a charm for me!

Castor oil is good for me, although for my last one, I tried shea butter and will never do that again. It was hard to wash out considering I had put the stuff on every bit of my scalp and it was gunky til after I neautralized, I still had to do a regular shampooing. But, with both, I don't burn at all.

CICI, a filler is something that is applied to the hair to fill in porous spots. It is supposed to make the hair relax more evenly throughout the strand. When I was getting my hair relaxed by a hairstylist many years ago, one of them would use Pre-Con Gel to do that.

I protect my scalp with SENSITIVE SCALP BY SUMMIT.

Amberskye,
Is Summit's sesitive scalp a cream?

CICI24,

The consistency of the Sensitive Scalp base is like petroleum jelly.
One jar can hold you down for several touch-ups and it's cheap! ($3.99)
