link didn't work. This happened to me back in 2008 as a result of a hair weave that was beautiful, however the base was done using very small tight cornrows.
Then the hair was sewn on tightly, I didn't know how tight that it was until 2 months later when I took the weave out. I was very angry and hurt, I had major bald spots.
I paid over $600 for this weave.

Water or oil are better ways to ease up too tight braids. Witch hazel is not useful. But better yet you may have to take them out.

Poor girl. :( As soon as she had to take a break from the stylist's chair to pop a painkiller she should have known that the weave was too tight. Her natural hair is beautiful. Hopefully, the damage isnt permanent.
