You could try using less of your moisturizer (if your hair can get away with that). Also, do you think the heat is making your hair go limp?

do you mean when I deep conditon with heat because when I use a protein treatment followed by a moisturizing conditioner my hair comes out fine its only when I use the moisturinzing conditioner with or without heat for deep conditioning

maybe its the oil moisturizer that weighing your hair down, you should try some kind of volumizing leave-in or setting lotion.

Also, when I say if you think it's because of the heat, I'm talking the summer heat (humidity, etc).

Well, I have no idea. Maybe some of the other members can come up with something.

thanks girl I will try less oil moisturizers and do u have any ideas on what else I could use that will moisturize without giving that limp look

Well, my hair gets most of it's moisture from a good ole moisturizing conditioner and also through leave-in conditioners (moisturizing, thick, creamy leave-ins). After a roller set, I basically use a little serum and that always does the trick for my hair.

I think what your hair is telling you is that it isn't as much dry as it lacks tensile strength. Some people do have very dry hair, and because we have curly and oftentimes chemically processed hair we assume that our hair needs what everyone else's does. But some people's hair just isn't as dry as others. And when this is the case, unless it's just fabulously healthy, it usually falls on the opposite end of the spectrum and requires strengthening treatments that build up the hair's ability to bounce and hold a curl and not go limp....

Protein does exactly this and it's probably why your hair responds better when you use protein conditioners...

Creame of Nature is very moisturizing. This follwed by the Nexxus sounds like what you suspect...to much moisturizing. When I used to use Creme of Nature...I didn't need as heavy a conditioner afterwards. You should also try a clarifying shampoo once a month.
